Sage sort of let out a breath in response to her comment, just glad she wasn't upset with him. He nodded when she mentioned nto apologosing unless he knew what it was for. It made sense, he supposed, but still he felt bad about it all. Worse than bad. But how could he explain it? He nodded when she mentioned being safe, and he offered her a small smile. "yeah," he noted. "That sounds good," he added after she mentioned Anya and rest. He was pulled into sleep quickly after that, though it wasn't long before his mind turned against him and he woke with a scream, jolting upwards and nearly falling off the bed. He caught himself, but barely, not really even noticing the blood stains slowly appearing on the otherwise white bandages....his mind was still elsewhere.

Mari offered a small smile before wandering off to see to the kids and all the rest. They were happy... well, they knew something was wrong, but they seemed okay. They'd found some of the maid's children and seemed fairly happy just running about with them for a while. Once she was sure they were all good, she wandered up to Anya's office, giving her what Sage had said and their ideas to do... something about all of this. Hopefully putting an end to it. She seemed to be on board, but agreed to go see Sage to at least make sure he was doing alright. Mari wandered off to go make some dinner, while the other woman found her way down to the ward. When she spotted Sage not in his bed, with blood slowly seeping into the bandages, she couldn't help her little yelp before rushing over to his side, calling the doctor in as she went. "Sage," she muttered in a more... snappy tone than she probably intended, really just trying to get his attention since his mind seemed to be... not quite there.

Sage hadn't really been aware of much....he could still see the things happening in his dreams, despite being awake. And he was fully awake by then ...the adrenaline and seen to that. Through the pounding of his pulse in his ears, he could hear the crack of a whip, the woman's words she'd cooed to him as he was half conscious, the guns going off. The pain in his chest. Actually, the pain everywhere, and now it seemed as though the whips were actually making their mark despite the vision not being real. He flinched away at whoever had called his name, though as they kept talking he slowly came around, blinking the visions away and brows furrowing when he noticed Anya kneeling there. "..Anya," he rasped out, clearly confused. He did note the concern on her face though, alongside the doctors who had just stepped in, but he waved them off. "Bad dream, rolled over one too many times," he noted. "I'm fine. Help me back up," he added, reaching for Anya to help him to his feet since she was closest. He was still definitely freaked out, but he was calming down. And Anya and he needed to figure this out.

Anya nodded, her brows pinching harshly together. "Yeah I'm here. You're good," she hummed, her nose wrinkling as he waved the doctors off. He needed help. Not just getting up. She turned his hand down and gestured to the doctors to have them help him up. The sight of blood still made her queezy, and really, she was scared to touch him in fear of hurting him. Was he doing alright? She should have probabaly checked in sooner. Once he was up and they'd patched him back up, she just found herself staring at him, holding some water out to him as an offering. "Bad dreams, you said?" She asked lightly.

Sage sort of scowled as Anya insisted on the doctor patching him back up before she'd talk, though he wasn't upset with anyone in particular. Just...the situation. Admittedly a little embarrassed over it all, too. And now he was hurting. A decent bit, in fact. He fought with the doctor as he worked on patching him up again, though with no real malice or merit. Eventually though, he'd left and Anya had settled down in the chair next to the bed. He took the water with a sigh, sipping at it carefully before answering. "They've been worse since ...all this," he noted, gesturing to the bandages covering his torso. "I fell off the bed when I jerked awake. Threw myself the wrong direction," he admitted with a chuckle. He didn't tell her he'd thrown himself off the bed because in his dream he was being held there by a woman, but whatever. Didn't matter. "What do you want to know," he asked after a moment, curling his hands around the glass nervously.

Anya just watched in near silence, her brows pinching tightly together. He did look awful. She didn't think he'd been this bad in years - at least, she'd never bothered to ask. Why would she? She'd had her own problems to deal with, but right now this was bigger than just her or Sage. It was effecting hundreds of people, and scaring the rest of the kingdom. She took the water off him when he'd finished, offering him a small smile. She hoped it was a friendly one. He looked nervous about it all, and he didn't need to be. "I don't want to know anything," she noted, her upper lip curling up just a little. "Just... how are you doing?" She murmured, hoping to ease him into some sort of conversation.

Sage sort of blinked at her, figuring she'd come down to get any sort of information he had. But he supposed they were still close, so it made sense that was what she'd ask. He shifted slightly, cocking his head in thought. "I'm ok," he noted after a moment or so. It was true....he was ok. He was safe, and full, and well rested. He wasn't perfect but he was ok. "The doctor has me drugged up pretty good, and I've been able to eat and sleep fine for the most part," he added with a shrug. He let out a soft breath. "It was rough, for a while....I couldn't do anything much to fight these guys," he admitted quietly, frowning. "But I don't think it was anyone besides them...if we can find the woman in charge and locker her up or hang her I don't think we'll have to worry about anything like this happening again."

Anya nodded shortly after a moment, her lips pressing together. Well, as long as he was feeling ok then... that was good. She was more concerned about that than anything, besides, she had a feeling Mari would have told her anything important. Anything that she needed to know, at least. She nodded when he mentioned the woman though, sort of pouting. "Mari said you were gonna try and draw something up of her. It'd be helpful, you know," she noted. Anything to stop all of this, really. Put an end to it.

Sage pursed his lips and nodded when Anya brought up the drawing. "She was the one in charge ..and she didn't seem to be taking orders from any outside sources," he noted. "If we can take care of her, hopefully this will stop the slave trades that happen down there," he murmured with a shake of his head. It was awful that it happened but....it did. And it likely wouldn't completely die out. But they could help it all. "I didn't see one of her main men get captured or killed either....hes probably with her. I'll draw them both up." He did want to help. He just wanted it to stop. For things to go bCk to normal as much as possible.

Anya nodded gently after a few moments, her brows furrowing as she thought. "Hopefully. I'll get some stuff out about it all whenever you finish the drawing," she murmured. It'd look good on her for doing something about all this, too. If she could fix this, make it all better, then maybe the people effected would feel more... seen? She could hope. It might make Sage feel better to see the people who had done this to him hanged. "Yeah, absolutely. If it helps then do the both of them," she chirped.
