Sage humemd softly, nodding along. "If it weren't for the castle, and Anya and I being so close, you probably wouldn't have," he noted gently. "A lot of people don't have that kind of friends....any other family would have been split up for good." They were lucky ...very lucky. He didn't want to dwell on what could have been....he could imagine what could have happened and he really didn't want to. "Yeah," he agreed in response to her next comment. "It all worked out nicely in the end." At least, for the most part.

Mari kind of shook her head after a moment or two, then gave a soft sigh. "I don't want to think about that, Sage," she whispered. "I'm just... glad you're okay. Alive. And we helped so many other people..." she trailed off slighly, sort of moving to settle down next to him. "We aren't the only family that got out of this one, remember that," she whispered softly.

Sage hummed softly and nodded in a quiet type of understanding as she mentioned not wanting to think about it. "Yeah," he noted softly, just wrapping an arm around her as they settled down together, and he let his head rest lightly on her shoulder, eyes slowly fluttering closed. "No, I suppose we weren't," he hummed softly. It was good they'd been able to help so many people.

Mari offered a slight smile when he nodded, then blew out a sort of tired breath. "And because you know Anya things are getting fixed now. You're not over there... and this woman and her sidekick are going to... hopefully... be hung," she continued quietly, sort of wrapping at arm around his side when he went to rest his head on her shoulder. "Everything will be all good, promise," she chirped.

|
Sage hummed softly and nodded as Mari spoke. He wouldn't wish hanging on many people....but this woman and whoever was helping her willingly did need to go. This wasn't one of the cases he'd shy away from a noose. They were dangerous. "They'll get caught I'm sure," he hummed tiredly, sort of just drifting off on her shoulder lightly after a moment or so.

Mari nodded softly after a few moments and gave a slight hu,m. They'd get caught, especially with a bounty on their head, but she could just hope it'd be soon. She couldn't ever forgive them for what they'd done, and especially not for what they'd done to her husband. She sort of ran her hands through his hair and shook his head slowly. "Come on, babe. Why don't we head off to bed," she whispered, sort of moving to stand up from the couch and offering him her hands.

Sage groaned when she moved, but picked his head up anyway, sort of sighing when she held her hands out, having sunk into the couch. He had to work up the energy to reach out and let her pull him up, just wandering up the stairs slowly and then collapsing into the bed. He was happy though ....he was home, and he'd seen the animals and spent the day doing something he enjoyed. It was nice. He was just....really tired. He crashed right away, sort of just crooked on the bed and he wasn't entirely sure he got onto the pillow completely. He definitely wasn't under the blankets. That was fine ...he was comfortable enough, and mari would join him soon.

Mari sort of sank down next to him when he flopped on the bed, curling up happily. She knew how much the last few weeks had affected him, and it was nice just to see him settling down now. After a few moments, though, she sighed and moved to tuck him in and gently shift the pillow under his head. She kind of found herself watching him for a bit before sighing and pecking the side of his head before trying to curl up and fall asleep the best she could.

Sage was out cold, so he didn't move as Mari gently shifted him around. Once she'd curled up and ticked them both in, though, he did curl up a bit more, into her warmth. He normally ended up doing that, he supposed.....but it wasn't like she minded at all. She probably liked it, if he knew her at all. He slept fairly well, with only a few bad dreams, though when a particularly bad one woke him around seven or so, he sighed and just moved to get up, knowing he probably wouldn't fall back asleep a before the kids got up and needed them.

Mari felt a slight smile when she felt him shifting to curl into her. She still didn't know why he did that, but she'd never stop finding it adorable. He'd always done it, and she hoped it'd never stop. She sighed after a few moments and offered a little chuckle as she curled up a bit more before slipping off to sleep. She slept happily until the next morning, although when she tried to cuddle in and he wasn't there, she couldn't help her sudden panic. She looked around the room before quickly stumbling out of bed and towards the banisters. "Sage?" She called worridly.
