Sage nodded in agreed to her comments, sort of approaching the doe cautiously. "The bite marks seem too big to be a wolf kill," he murmured in thought, before standing up and shaking his head. "He must have interrupted the kill before it got very far though, if it is something else," he noted. He couldn't hear or smell anything...but that didn't mean much. A skilled hunter could stay silent and downwind easily. "We should get back to the fire," he thought out loud, standing up again. |

"Yeah, I'll post up in a tree.You'll hear me if I really need you." Elara explained,slinging her bow over her back and heading out a few yeards,hoisting up into a tree. |

Sage grunted and nodded, watching her go before settling himself down by the fire, waiting. Watching. His back was against something solid, so if it wanted to attack him or come his direction, he'd see it. He wasn't sure there was anything out there...but he wasn't taking any chances. |

Sage felt his ears flick around as he heard...something. He wasn't sure what it was, but it was nearby. "We're not alone," he warned the girl softly, tying his hair back into a quick braid and readying his dagger, preparing to fight whatever it was if it bothered them. |

She hopped down from the tree, eyeing him as he spoke. "I know, and it's not just one of them.There's atleast six, still don't know what they are."
Elara explained, notching her bow and tossing her hair aside, putting it in a quick bun before stalking into the darkness. |

Sage nodded, ears continuing to twitch. "There's seven I think," he added. "They're downwind so I can't smell them though," he added, grabbing her arm as she moved to go forward. "Stay where your back is against something sturdy. If they surround you, it's bad luck," he added. She may know how to hunt and stuff, but fighting was a while other ball game. Even if she practiced with weapons, actual combat was entirely different. |

She ripped her arm from his hand, looking back at him. "Yeah, if they surround you it's bad, obviously.And what the heck do you mean you can smell them?Are you a dog or something?"
Elara asks, checking to make sure she had daggers. "I know.This isn't the first time this has happened, and the other times I was alone.So I think I'll survive.I'm not stupid, you know." She growled, starting to head back into the woods.The princess stopped and glanced around, turning towards a tree and releasing a arrow, a cry escaping from where it hit. "Yeah,"
She starts, turning towards Sage. "Their everywhere." |

Sage scowled when she snapped at him, the dog comment obviously rubbing him the wrong way. "Do I look like a dog," he sort of snapped back. This really wasn't the time or place to argue though, so when she looked the arrow he just moved to grab his throwing knives, throwing them whenever he saw a flash of movement, hitting something each time. "You don't have to be stupid to make a mistake or get hurt," he pointed out, still admittedly annoyed with her, and spoke through gritted teeth. "And I'm sorry for attempting to keep you from being torn to pieces. That bow is a hunting bow, not a fighting bow. And while it can do both, it can't kill seven animals that size in a quick enough fashion to keep you in one piece," he added, shoulders relaxing slightly as the animals around them took off in search of easier prey, immediately moving to collect his knives. |

"The bow thing is sorta true, this bow sucks, could've grabbed my bow but god knows how far we are from where I usually-nevermind, it's right there." She muttered, slinging the bow over her shoulder and heading off, finding a hollow log and pulling out a thinner, older looking bow. "Now this, this I can get by with.You can use it to zipline on bazarr wires, climb up tress, bang this sharp side into somebody's side, use it as a club.And if and only if you're gonna die, firewood."
Elara mumbled, grabbing out the arrows which were sharper then the kingdom's bow. |
