Yeah, that's been what I've been doing too. I've literally been having the BM manage all of them and then setting her to only enter competitive horses.

Thanks Athena. I'm conflicted because some of my mares do quite well in shows but they don't have the stats for breeding, so I think, well, I could just show them.

you can put mares you're showing on CS. Its supposed to make them train more like geldings. Or you can leave them off it, brood them out for extra ebs and they'll stay in the money longer. Bu they'll also take longer to get back in the money

So this mare's dam was P.
https://horseeden.com/horse.php?id=19553206

She's number 15 KNN mare, who then went on to produce Etihad (number 2 KNN stallion and 22 bablb overall.)

So weird things do happen. Bravery can be really random.

My main reason for culling P mares was my 100 stall barn was full.

The short answer:in general, I would not spend the money to send them to good studs. However, you could use them to test freshmen. If they have a color that is uncommon in their breed, you could use them as color incentive mares.

Long answer:

I personally have 2 goals with bravery.
1. Breed the best bravery horses possible
2. Breed strong colorful bravery horses

For each of my bravery accounts, I have two broodmare herds. One consists of LB mares. The other consists of any non-LB mares that that have colors that are uncommon in my herd. aka Color incentive mares.

To test my freshmen, I use non-LB elite and premium mares that either don't have color or have color that is very common in my LB mares. I suppose you could say I am using throw-away mares.

In the early days of bravery I would keep every P mare I could get my hands on because I needed them for testing. But now that bravery has been around longer, more elite mares are falling off the LBs, giving me more elites to use for testing. I also have less freshies to test since the WC rating was released.

I am ditching colorless premium mares on my largest accounts, but I sometimes keep them on my smaller accounts that don't have enough non-LB elite mares for freshie testing.

I've been ditching 'colorless' P mares lately because my barns keep overflowing. I still get pretty disheartened when I get S and A foals from W x E matches though!

On the plus side, I finally got my first homebred Ws. Both are colts by Loranath, and though I doubt they'll give Ink's RID boys trouble, one has silver and one has tobiano which makes them very useful to me.

Awesome clover! I decided to try color with my other breeds. So I might be stalking your RID boys. Gonna try to do splash wbs as well.

Hi, I am very new to this Bravery stuff and thought I should introduce myself. I had a capture 400 quest so I started capturing WBs where I wound up with a couple decent ratings and quite a few World Class bravery horses.

Thanks for all the chat explaining things! Definitely different from breeding for ratings.

Is there any interest in Bravery broods? Like this mare? #1 bravery WBLB and #3 bravery ABLB.

I'm always interested in high-placing broods, Bijoux. Although, I believe the market for bravery broods is certainly not the largest.

Anyways, anyone get many pretties this year? I've been using an Elite freshman to get me some appies like this one:
