I am usually just interested in finding nice people to talk to but I can absolutely see your point Reprobate said: @ArcticLights Considering queer people are a historically opressed group, it's usually to find community! It's nice to know there are other people like you in places that you frequent :) As for this poll, I believe it was just out of curiosity to contrast it with the sister game lol No dating involved, in either cases

I hope you didnt take my question as its being "scandalous", I think people are welcome to love and date whoever they want (as long as we are talking about consenting adults). The Old Gods said: ArcticLights said: I dont have a problem with people being straight, bi or gay cause I am not interested. But I am just confused and dont understand why it seemingly is important to tell people what you are? Its a horse game, not a dating site... Edit: Does the whole thing boil down to me getting old(er) and stuck in my own ways?
To be able to find and talk to people with relatable experiences. Besides, why is it an issue when lgbt+ folks talk about themselves when straight folks do it all the time? I don't think I've ever gone more than a day or two without someone in main chat talking about how they're going on a date, their boyfriend/husband, etc. But if someone who isn't straight does the same, it's suddenly scandalous?

Nah. It's mostly me looking at the strange double standard most people have that want lgbt+ to keep themselves behind closed doors...As seen earlier in the thread.

Totally fair! And as an (assumedly) non-marginalized person, that is very easy to do with just about anyone, without knowing things like these about them, for sure! But I can't tell you the amount of times, both online and in real life, where I socialized with someone who seemed nice and all, but when they found out I'm gay, they did a complete 180 haha Or they didn't even find out about it, just brought queer people up with.. not great views about them. And when someone is talking to you about wanting to hurt people like you, it's not that easy to just be friends with them, weirdly enough! And even when it's not violent rethoric like that, some straight people tend to be very invasive with their questions and assumptions about queer folk, and sometimes, it gets tiring to be talked to like that, which makes a lot of queer people more comfortable around other queer people ArcticLights said: I am usually just interested in finding nice people to talk to but I can absolutely see your point

Queerness has always existed and is more openly represented in the population now because people are finally feeling safe to express it. We're not any more or less queer than we've ever been. I don't see expressing it on a site like HEE to be inappropriate. I see religious content on stable pages daily and take no issue with that either, though it may not align with my particular beliefs. Like anything else in your life that's a big part of your identity, especially since the community is still wildly unfairly marginalized despite progress, be proud of who you are.
