ok guys I really need advice here, (Please) Don't Judge me for my choices people have in the past I'm getting where I want to be but not when it comes to horses, I'm really stuck here, and I don't know how to solve this problem, anyway I really love the KNN but I just can't breed them the way I want to get my show string going, because I lost my starter horses along time ago so I've been trying to replace them, as of late I Either get to many Colts, when I want girls, then I have to free range the mares that don't give me a girl then I loose show horses and a lot of money each time, weather I capture or breed or buy and I've heard so much info and tried different things so far nothing works every time I think this is it I make a mistake or change my mind and I've read it all tried it all nothing works I don't want the game to be to easy or boring that's why I chose the KNN to being with and on top of that I can't tell what knns have gene wise because about 80-99% are not gene tested breeding them is a toss up so I never know what I'll get man when I restarted my stables after I lost my main horses I never thought I'd have this much trouble restarting again .
What do you all think the KNN is my first love and always will be i really hate to say this but maybe I should switch my breed, I mean every time I aim for a KNN I either don't get what I want or I get bad show horses or producers, and I've done some looking in the search area when I breed to noting seems to work or they throw sport horses, I've listened to so much that I don't know what to believe, how do i break the cycle? Do I keep trying or switch breeds maybe I'd have better luck with a different one I'm so torn I want to keep going with the KNN but I don't want to feel like a looser either.
what do you all think, now I know what I'm doing except when it comes to breeding what I want so maybe a switch is in oder did you all start out this way? . |

A. Why are you FRing the mares that give you a colt this year? That makes no sense at all.
B. Why not just buy some better KNN's? You can buy EEE mares for as little as 10k. Starting with them will be far better than the unrated/poorly rated ones you have. |

Hey hey take it easy it sounds like your yelling at me I spacifically said don't judge me it's been hard re learning everything and I also said I've tried everything to get where I want to be I've heard so much info from others I don't know what to believe anymore I've done testing to see what works and what dose not.
sometimes boys are good showers/producers some not same with girls, it's a toss up, someone says stock up on girls, some say boys, I've tired both and see no difference at all, ratings don't do much of anything/there so important for everything uggg I'm so confused my head is about to explode I know what I want but I keep making mistakes I can't take back and I wish I could but I can't. Im trying to fix my problem I'm not rich like some here so I have to take it slow I don't need ridicule I'm asking for a salution that I can handle and not make mistakes anymore I'm only human as you are but I'm having more trouble then most trying to get where I want to be it's been along time since I've played the game. |

Hi Loving Velvet. Each time you breed a mare, there is 50-50 chance for a colt or a filly. I know it's frustrating whe you don't get what you wish for but the mare that give you a colt have to same odds to produce a filly next year than any other mare. So in your case I would keep my mare and try again next year, so you can keep your showing stock :) The KNN is a lovely breed but is also very tricky because of the genetic part. The LP and PATN make it difficult to predict if you are gonna have a KNN or a Sport Horse. A would suggest to use a stallion that is the color "Fewspot" or "Snowcap" because that means it's LPLP and you don't even have to gene test it to know that. :D That mean that every foal this stallion is gonna have will have the LP gene that is requiered to be a KNN. The only tricky part is that a colt ALSO need to have the PATN so you could have a few Sport Horse colt but that should be less frequent. You can also change your breed but I know you love KNN and I think you can have success. Just keep trying. :) |

I bought a KNN stallion, genetested him and put him for sale just for you for 0 ebs. It's a gift, please try him. You don't need to give me anything for him but please, keep him. According to the gene test, it will 100% give you KNN foals. I know he's a little bit plain looking, all white but he should produce cute foals of many colours. He's bad in Dressage (Sub) but very good in Cross Country (W) and average in Jumping (S). The previous owner trained him in Cross Country but you can do as you wish.

Thank you alies that's very thoughtful and the best advice I've had yet I'll do better from now on I just need to be more careful about how I play and when I played before I chose Irish drafts my other favorite breed I had a lot of fun with those. if there was a way to cross breed to get the KNN like with the sport horse and warmblood finding studs would be easy I wish there was. also I didn't know certain coats produced knns almost every time I can't even read a gene test I've just gone by color or take what I get, most of the time.

I would look for PPP or EEE geldings ik bad trade but they can earn you money KNNs are the hardest breed if you wanna do rateings and most of the time you spend more money on breeding KNNs. But I do recommend building a show line first to help you with your goal |

I know that is what I'm trying to do but I'm stuck with what I have for now I have to build up my funds again I know breeding is expensive but I love to do it, sometimes a little to much but it makes me happy that and showing are all I'm good at.
any other friendly non yelling advice would be good as long as it is helpful I've had about all the bad advice I can take and getting upset with me will do no good. and I don't bother with ratings I gave up on that along time ago I just rate to see where a horse trains best nothing more. id like to geld some of the boys I got now but since you can't keep them around after they retire unless they have children and I dont have a mamorial garden to keep my favorites in yet, because I need my pastures, I will breed my boys before I geld them I learned that the hard way so I won't geld them yet. |

And please for the last time do not yell at me I hate being yelled at for anything and it makes me not want to ask for help, or be nice to any one If your just going to yell at me don't reply it's that simple. I For one am sick and tired of being yelled at and treated like a 5 year old (Which Iam Not), so I will kindly thank you to just stop and rember people are different ages here, I will not say mine but Iam not a little kind and don't deserve to be treated like one, all I have gotten is ridicule and hatred for everything I do from most of you good or bad and I'd like it to stop as of today iam not an alien but sure feel like one some of you have no manners if you can't be nice don't play the game. |

Nobody has attacked or yelled at you in this thread. There are no caps, no exclamation points, nobody exaggerating what you've done. Someone was extremely generous and there is genuine advice in here. . My suggestion is going to be to set up a barn with geldings set to SD, elite in that discipline, and managed by the BM to show when they're competitive. That way you can have a little extra income. |
