After 5 years of riding and about 10 well-schooled dressage horses I still can't do half-passes or leg yields when not out on the trails.
So grateful that my horse puts up with my dressage nonsense

green means your horse is doing well in training and is at the same level as their rider, so yes it is good :)
Red means they have levelled up before their rider and need to be switched to a rider that is the same level as them

From the internets: "QH mare to approved WB stallion can be registered AWS, AWR, and with several WB registries."

I just read some things that say AWR and AWS (AWSSR) aren't good registries. Thoughts?

If I register a foal I want it in a respectable registry. I don't feel comfortable sticking him/her name on papers that don't mean anything.

I don´t know how crossbreeding and registering in the US works--- but how would it work to register a mix in a purebreed registry at all?

Somehow this does not make sense to my personal understanding of breeding, sorry?

In Germany the original breeding associations would have to (dis) approve the mare first and give a special permit for a certain cross - and IF the foal would fit into the recent breeding programms it would maybe get appendix papers, if at all...

Yeah, I agree with Kuewi here. I'm pretty sure both the mare and the stud have to be approved by the registry for the foal to be elligible. Well, atleast that's how it is with the Irish Horse Registry, I'd assume it's similar for Warmblood studbooks. I could be wrong though, and there's probably exceptions.

I see TBxOldenburg foals register as Oldenburgs all of the time, though I suppose TBs are - at a loss for words - better and closer to the breed conformation-wise? In American Warmblood registries (example AWS) basically any cross works when bred to an approved stud. I've heard this registry is basically just a waste of time though so, unless I hear something good from many people on here, I don't want to use it.

So I can get the foal in a warmblood registry somewhere. I would just much rather register as an Oldenburg or at least get a more respectable registry.

And with approving, if I'm not mistaken my mare would get approved at the foal's inspection. I'd have to read into it to make sure but this is how I've seen it done before.

I don't know much the specifics about the Oldenburg registry but I do know some things about Warmblood registries in general - and the mares has to be registred in their stud book for them to register the foal. To register the mare she has to have an "approved bloodline". Mostly those approved bloodlines come from other European Warmbloods, for example a mare with just Hanoverians in her pedigree will be approved for the Oldenburg registry because Hanoverians are approved by the Oldenburg Verband. They also accepts TBs with the right papers from the Jockey Club.

I researched the Oldenburg Verband quickly and they only seem to accept mares with bloodlines from other German breeds, as well as Belgian -, Danish - and Swedish Warmbloods, KWPN and Selle Francais. The exception seems to be TBs with the right papers and Arabians in some cases.

Most of my information I got from https://oldenburghorse.net/upload/Aktuelles/Rulebook_2018_aktuelle_Version.pdf if you want to read more :)

The mare would have to be inspected and accepted into a registry in order for the foal to be registered.
In order to even do that, she herself will need to be DNA tested, with a 5 generation pedigree. (Neaning the horse needs to be registered somewhere)

After all that is said and done, not many (if any) of the erkend registries will accept a quarter horse.
They do accept pedigree hot bloods (usually TB) once they pass their inspections.

Any of the "american warmblood" registries are a joke. Theyll accept anything as long as you give them money. But unfortunately that is what youd be stuck with. An aqha x warmblood (any) isnt gonna be a warmblood and will not be accepted as such.
