People are weird for being weird about divorced parents.

Oh wow, yeah, you were an infant! Whatever your parents did has nothing to do with you at that point. I don't know why someone would judge a kid for having divorced parents. That's just wild.

He didn’t realize, he backtracked some once he was told but he also had a habit of mansplaining that made it very funny to be a part of haha

I once went on a double date where the other’s guy talked about how traumatic their parents amicable divorce was and how we didn’t know how divorce could be damaging for kids (they were 17 when it happened). While divorce can be traumatic and damaging, he was talking to a table full of people with divorced parents

@Rainy, I have been looked down on it for my whole life even though I wasn't even 1 when it happened. It sucks.

On a different date the guy wanted to know about what it's like being a kid to divorced parents. He was extremely turned off by the fact my parents were divorced. =/

I think it was the fact that he talked about his special interest and himself for the whole hour and a half that bothered me.

Yeah the special interest talk isn't bad. Just can be for the wrong person lol

The talking about yourself the whole time tho?? That's crazy. I always worry that I talk too much about myself just in one simple conversation lol

@Snitch, was he fascinated with tree rings too?

After all of the hype that I've seen on TikTok I finally succumbed to purchasing A Court Of Thorns And Roses, and I'll be recieving it later this week. I've heard a lot of good things on the series and the style is up my alley. What I am not prepared for are the hot elves. xD

I'm pretty sure all these books are like adult books and stuff, I prefer the books with animals and such, specifically, Kathryn Lasky and Kathleen Duey.
Each have incredible detail, (I am 16 and prefer the books for ages lower then mine because they tend to have not as much gruesome bits *I love those bits though* but they match my eye better then the adult or teen books and hit closer to my young side, it's closer then my old side.)
I like Lasky more, she has 4 series that I have read.
THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS, BEWARE.
She has two of my favorite books ever, Horses of the Dawn and Wolves of The Beyond.
HOTD (Horses Of the Dawn) is about a horse born on a boat, places in the 15th century I am guessing, brought to find gold in America, then dumped the horses to fend for themselves because they were taking resources and they went off to find grass that the one born on the ship sniffs out. (I'm really trying not to spoil the whole plot.) It's very interesting to me, first off, it's horses, second, it's adventure, and third, it bounces on human problems in a face of an animal. I love it and I am reading it over currently.
Then there's WOTB (Wolves Of The Beyond), about a wolf raised by a bear and finding peace in himself for not being perfect and being thrown away by law of the wolves, it links to other books she has written, languages from millenniums ago, it's intriguing and I highly recommend it, I'm trying to buy the WOTB so I can read it, it hit close to home because this wolf found it so hard to fit in. I love these a lot.

I read Addie LaRue recently and loved it. Although I found it a slow start and hard to get into. I think I enjoyed the historical flashback chapters more than the present day ones lol.

Would really recommend Legendborn by Tracy Deonn to anyone looking for a really good, solid YA read. I put off reading it for so long because I wasn't sure how I'd feel about modernised Arthurian legend, but it was amazing, fast paced and exciting. I think if I was 16 and reading it I would've found Bree to be a really relateable character. It is YA though and so is very "YA-y", if you've read lots of YA you know what I mean. It kind of reminded me of the later Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus books even though it's not similar in anyways other than the vibe I guess lol.

I read Legendborn a bit ago, I remember being pretty torn on how I felt about it :P there were a lot of things I liked, but I also didn't enjoy the romance.

Also, read Circe by Madeline Miller the other day, awesome book <3

Yeah, I agree. I also really hated the romance. It just felt off and 2D. And it kinda felt like Insta love because the time period of which the book happens over wasn't really clear. I really liked Sel bu the end of it which totally surprised me lol

I've read 6 books so far this month and I'd figure I'd share and give my opinions.

The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller. Good Enemies-to-lovers standalone.

Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas (18+).First book I've read by her. Was decent, nothing magical.

Crown Of Midnight & Heir Of Fire by Sarah J. Maas. CoM was good, absolutely loved HoF (omg Rowan).

Corrupt by Penelope Douglas (18+). Wtf. Seriously everything was fucked up in this book. Some decent spicy scenes though.

Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston. Absolutely wholesome gay romance.
