@Charm, do you by chance have a photo of your tank?
Charmed Acres

No. Nalo is in a 20 gallon long, which is about 12" tall.

My 20 gallon is an Aqueon, my 40 is a Marineland (I think). I love them both. And if you buy them new, stores will have a return policy on them in case a seam leaks or theres a crack you can't see.

The only time I recommend buying second-hand is if you're purchasing a large tank and are willing to learn how to reseal it. Otherwise, it's cheaper (and safer) to buy from a store!

Oh also, I heard betta fish like shallow water so does that mean something as tall as 12" is too tall for them?

Do you guys have any tank brand recommendations? I definitely need one with a lid.

They are great for supplies! Our LFS actually partners with them because of how much they recommend them.

Checkout used tanks often people will be nearly giving them away, just make sure to fill it up outside first for a few days to make sure it’s not leaking. Never take a tank with cracks even if they’re small and are current ply holding water
Backwood Barns

Or, you can typically do it cheaper by piecing it together yourself. Tank, light, cover(optional), heater, filter, air pump, airline hoses, bubble wand, substrate, and then obviously decorations (nothing plastic) and the fish.
Kangaroo Studs

I reccomend tetras as well, you want a lot 10-20 as theyre schooling fish and they have a high casualty rate especially when you first get them

I'm awful at explaining things but this might help

1. Start with a soft brush with 'sharp' or softer edges to paint out the mane, always start with a darker colour and obviously add more highlights to make the mane brighter if needed depending on what colour your going for.

Never use black or white when it comes to manes, you can use similiar colours for greyscale but never the actual black or white colour.

2. Use a smaller brush to start with the highlights, look at the original stock for a possible idea of where they are placed and depending on how light or dark you want the end result you can alts r the brightness of the brush.

3. Use an even smaller brush to add more and brighter highlights, it's better to use these highlights in between the other ones to get as much detail in as possible.

4. Add shadows using a darker colour than the original layer, these aren't for the lightning of the background so kuch you can add that in later (that's what I do) these shadows are for the hair clumps, for example on the forlock there was a shadow because some hair falls over the other

5. Here we can add even lighter and smaller highlights. Once again in between the lines, to add more detail

6. This is simply adding shadow to the hair to add realism

What about this one?
I feel like the mane and tail are a lot better but still there is lots to improve on :)
