All right I'll just get right to it since HEE doesn't like it when I write long posts apparently. I have been given permission from Eve to post this. It is only fair that I mention I've been doing research for years and after many..Too many headaches and long nights I am confident enough to say that my advise comes from personal experience, I used to own several betta fish but they all unfortunately passed away, The only aquatic pet I currently have is my female bristlenose pleco, But that's not why I'm here. Warning before we proceed, In this post I will be teaching you how to get your fish (Fresh and Saltwater) to eat medicated food. First you will need a small sterile container, Add one table spoon or pinch of your fishes food (Floating pellets work the best, Flakes tend to make a disgusting mess) Now add One LEVELED scoop of Seachem Metroplex and Five LEVELED scoops of Seachem Focus, Carefully stir or gently shake contents until the medication is on the bottom, Last step, (This will depend on the size of your aquarium and how many fish you have) Add one capful of Seachem Garlic Guard (Add two capfuls if your aquarium is 40 gallons and up) Finally feed your medicated food to your fish, Continue this process until you start noticing a change. This is for internal parasites and will do nothing for external ones, I'll cover that in another post, Tomorrow or in the next few days, Also I suggest continuing the medicated food for two weeks, If the internal parasites haven't cleared up keep feeding for a whole month. This process also works on quarantined fish as well, I will go on record to say, If your fish has been sickly before, he or she might not respond to treatment of any kind. Anyway I hope this helped some of you, Thank you for reading my ridiculously long post. I will post about more helpful things, I've got all kinds of juicy tips and more fun science-y stuff to share, I'll share more in two to three day gaps to prevent myself from writing a full on novel lol
alternatively, if you have a weirdo fish like i do, put the medication in the water and she'll fucking eat the powder
O.0 That is..fucked up XDD I had to edit my post, please go back and re-read it, Next time I'll load up on coffee.
my fish is psycho she is now deciding to eat the medication and only eat the food when i annoy her about it i think shes broken lmao im scared shes gonna overdose herself somehow because she ate like half a scoop of kanaplex that i was trying to dissolve into the water

I bought my tank yonks ago! I cannot remember the size plus it would be different sizing compared to yours I think? its freshwater I have 3 goldfish, 1 cherry barb ( other four died) and a pleco. I have had people tell me cherry barbs and plecos need their own species in with them but they seem to get along just fine as they are, no aggression whatsoever. I only have fake decorations that I clean often :) thats my tank although I would like a to a pond but I have two cats so that wont work 😔

No they don't need their own species, and if they are leaving each other alone now, I highly doubt they're going to start fighting any time soon, if you are worried, you can try sticking those sticky notes that are in different shapes on the glass for mental stimulation or a distraction, but, if they haven't been chasing or nipping/pecking at each other than you're all good. Ooo I love ponds! Hopefully you get your pond one day, My favorite pond fish is the black butterfly koi fish @.@ I see them and I just gawk. Edited at May 16, 2022 06:44 PM by Hastings Warmbloods

At my house we have multiple tanks including a 30gal frshwater community tank, a 55(maybe 60)gal oscar tank with two young oscars which we'll be upgrading them to a 100+gal tank eventually, and another 30gal tank but saltwater with seahorses and peaceful fish&clean up crew with a smaller tank beside it we use to breed shrimp for life food. Finally a 5gal beta tank . All are natural looking tanks except for maybe a few artifical things here and there.

I love having multiple tanks^^ the oscars act like they never have enough foodxD they are only about 3-4 inches right now but they'll get a lot bigger once transferred to a larger tank. one of the male seahorses clings to my finger when i clean their tank or feed them and its so dang cute*^* i almost forgot about the mini pond with turtles and some goldfish . I've always had pets and couldn't imagine life without them. Besides the aquatic animals i have: Dogs, cats(some are resques), chickens and two ducks.

Aaaand I'm back, Let's dive in. MTS: Multiple Tank Syndrome. Ever go into your LFS and they are sold right out of aquariums? Yeah those with MTS are the reason for that, We're camping see, Meaning we are there waiting for that sale, and as soon as those doors are open usually all of the tanks are gone before the day is even over. ''Is there anything I can do about it?'' Uhm..no, unless you went to the store ahead of time and got the staff or manager to put the aquarium/stand or set on hold for you, then it is yours and all you have to do is pay for it (If you haven't already) and take it home, MTS isn't always directed at aquariums, No no no, it can also be directed at aquarium supplies, food, medication, etc, Sometimes it can be borderline hoarding. Cycling a tank with fish: To me there is no 'best way' to do this. You will need to add one table spoon of Seachem safe, Seachem Prime, and Seachem Stability (Stability will need to be added throughout the cycle including after every water change) What fish should be used? Something you won't get attached to, White Water Mountain Minnows are your best bet a group of 6-10 would be ideal if your tank is large enough, Another thing you can try is live micro worms though I haven't tested the micro worms myself yet so I cannot say with confidence that it'll work. ''I want a black background on my aquarium, How do I do it?'' There are several ways, You can do the maddening method of using glue, a cheap black background, a static cling background. Or you can try this method. First you will need a simple alcohol solution, use it to wipe down the back of your aquarium, DO NOT drown the glass in it, Once it has dried now you will need a roller paint brush and finer brushes for those tricky spots, Next, Apply 1 coat of black window tint, once it dries repeat this process two more times, Now you should have a delightfully black 'background' on the back of your aquarium, And just like with EVERY chemical, avoid touching your, eyes, mouth, nose, ears, DO NOT attempt this with open, infected, freshly stitched wounds, Always wash your hands under warm water, clean under your finger nails, DO NOT pet animals, prep food or drinks until your hands are clean AFTER using the chemicals, alcohol solution, and Seachem products, I know I say that every time but I do it for obvious reasons. Well that's all for now, Next time we'll be dicussing, species only fish/tanks, Tank mates, and how to set up and turn on a canister filter the right way, I know some of this stuff is boring but we will get into the more advanced stuff eventually, Until next time! Bye! Edit: Before you paint the back of your aquarium with the window tint, you'll need to protect the frame top and bottom with that blue paint tape stuff (I don't know what it's called but you can Google it lol) Edited at May 22, 2022 07:16 PM by Hastings Warmbloods
