(No worries! I don't mind waiting a bit<3 Poor Kyron, probably pretty drafty😭) Luara Ingalls Laura followed Kyron away from the human settlement, practically buzzing with excitement. And to think, she'd get to spend most of her time out here instead of in a lab. She didn't quite understand his words, but from his tone got the point of 'Don't go running off and touching every little thing otherwise you WILL die.' Laura stuffed her hands in her pockets just to avoid accidentally touching something that turned out to be something not exactly touchable. Her eyes were wide with wonder at the trees towering above them, so alike yet so different from trees on Earth. She wondered if they too had evolved photosynthesis or got their energy a different way. Kyron's words sort of explained it, Laura guessed the trees were carnivorous, but it also opened the door for a TON of questions, though she kept quiet for now. She'd ask him later. Laura almost gasped a little at the sight of the lake, her mind storing away what Kyron said about it. Were a lot of lakes glowy like this, or just some? Or maybe just this one. Crouching down, she dipped one hand in the water, noting its temperature. Did water here have different mineral contents from Earth's water? More than likely, but that led to another question; would it be okay for Laura to drink, or was it likely to contain things a human body couldn't handle? She shook her head, smiling a little - too cold for a swim, and she'd rather not be all soggy when she got back. "Keep going," Laura said.

Kyron BloomSpark | HallowSweet Tribe | 24 | Verenthian 'Ver' (It's been so fricking long T-T I may actually have to re-read it >.<) - I chuckled lightly and stood up from the water-side, my long body stretching out to full length. My tail flicked playfully behind me as I took in the smaller female humans expression. Amusing. I nodded and turned, my lumi sliding along their transparent veins under my skin as I strode away from the water. I glanced back at the small woman and flashed a toothy smile. My bare feet squelching in the mud. I wrinkled my nose and shook my head. Instead moving to walk so I was in the first few centimetres of the glowing water. As I continued to walk, occasionally checking back on Luara, a pathway cleared among the mud and ratty GooseHair grass. I snorted and leaped from the water to the grass, making sure I didn't step in the mud again. My muscles flexing as I jumped, my tail flowing behind me. I rolled my shoulders and looked back at the human. "I always wondered why you use leather on your feet, is the mud why?" I asked, my tongue twisting as I attempted the human language as best I could manage. My language slipping here and there into my own speech. I grunted, rubbing the back of my head and chewing over my words, making sure most of them made sense. Enough sense for her to understand.

Laura Ingalls (lol at least it's only a few pages xD) Laura got a bit distracted by something rustling in the low foliage, and crouched down a little to investigate, being careful not to touch anything regardless of how badly she wanted to. She spotted what looked to be a medium sized rat, except nothing like a rat at all, at least not one she'd ever seen. It was a pale blue-green, with swirls of a darker blue, and its body was almost kangarooesque. It stood on its hind legs, the front paws held in front of it like a meercat, occasionally washing its long, curved whiskers with them. It peered back at Laura curiously, and she realized the creature had four eyes, perfect 360 degree vision. Its thick, muscular tail was coiled beneath it and seemed to be used to help it balance and remain upright. It blinked, one set of eyes at a time, and then dropped to all fours, scurrying off. When she heard Kyron speak, she straightened and turned back toward him. She nodded, then wrinkled her nose and added, "And rocks. And thorns. Annd other prickly things that hurt." Yeahh, shoes were a good invention. She glanced back to where she'd seen the kanga-rat thing, then pointed to its last known location and asked, "Did you see that? What was it?"

Kyron BloomSpark | HallowSweet tribe | Verenthian 'Ver' - I finally got a post innnn <3 Darzell = Little rat thing with hidden spikes in the tail (poisonous) - I continue down the slightly defined pathway, often lost to human eyes. Luckily I know this track like the back of my hand, I looked eagerly along the forest we walked through- my eyes ached for it after being in that grey and dull human camp. How could anyone live like that? It was so… colourless. Unremarkable. I snorted warily, something tingled against my senses. My lumi raced under my skin, the bioluminescent light flowing through bulging veins. Something was… off. I flicked my tail warily once again, my nostrils widened. A sharp tingling smell forced itself down my throat, making me cough and step back suddenly. It was.. scratchy, my lungs ached for normal, sweet air. Yet it didn’t come, the strange itchy air kept coming. I looked back at my human companion, Laura. She didn’t seem to notice, instead she was staring at a Darzell. I raced to her side, pulling her back before she could touch it- or think of chasing it. The poison in them things were enough to take down a male Ver of my size. Stopping our hearts within the minute of touch. “No” My English crackled, surprisingly that was the easiest word they had taught me in that language. I figured it made more sense then a full-blown explanation she would only partially understand. My hand was clamped around her small wrist, damn- humans are tiny. Well.. not any humans, female humans. Our females compared to them were… dominant. Harsh. Witty. The wind picked up, the strange smell again distracting me- I quickly dropped her wrist and glanced away. Trying to hide the new blush spread shamelessly across my emerald cheeks. My nose twitched, the suffocating smell filling my nostrils again, making me cough. I looked up, a swarm of darkness lingered from the direction we came from. What in the Arboris? I wheezed, clawing at my throat. My eyes widening at the stuffy sensation of the smell in the air, my tail lashed dangerously behind me like a whip. I looked back to Laura, watching her, trying to gauge if she was effected by the smell. Or was it just me?

Laura froze, eyes wide. Just from his reaction, she guessed she probably shouldn't even consider touching whatever that thing was. It looked relatively small and harmless, but if it was bad enough for him to seem wary like this, she'd heed his warning. Luckily, the creature disappeared into the foliage quickly, and didn't seem like it'd.. attack, or something. Laura slowly let out the breath she hadn't realized she was holding, but it caught in her throat, and she coughed a little. That didn't feel right. The air here had a different taste to it from what she was used to, but now it seemed.. wrong. Something had changed. It'd gone from slightly sweet to thick and acrid, and it reminded her of choked city air. She glanced at Kyron, and his agitation confirmed her suspicion that something wasn't right. It only got worse, and fast. Thick and bitter, it made Laura's throat burn and her eyes water. "Kyron..." she said slowly, "what do we do?" Investigate? Or do the [probably] smart thing and get somewhere where the air didn't seem so toxic? If there was an emergency - and it sure as hell smelled like it - shouldn't they at least try to help? But if it came down to it, what could they really do? Probably not much. Getting somewhere cleaner to at least think without choking seemed like the safest plan. By the sounds of it, even some of the wildlife seemed to be fleeing. It may have been the reason Laura'd seen the little blue critter in the first place.

Kyron BloomSpark | HallowSweet tribe | Verenthian 'Ver' Xd- poor Kyron. First time experiencing smoke like that. - I cough again, the endless rattling in my chest causing me distress. What was this? Poison in the air? My eyes widened as panic began to shake me- was I going to die?! My lumi slid under my skin with the speed of a rushing snake. My heart thumping against my chest. Armoured by the hard muscles on my chest. My long ears tapped against the side of my head as I spun to look at Laura, she was struggling as well. Something akin to grey clouds surrounded us- however they didn’t smell of rain. It was that suffocating smell again. My eyes watered as I looked in the direction of which this grey cloud stuff was coming from. The human camp. Shock rippled through me. I darted forward, snatching up Laura and throwing her hastily over my shoulder. I winced as she struggled, I hope she understood what I meant to do.. that I didn’t mean harm. I raced forward, back towards the camp. Towards the source of the suffocating cloud. My long legs guided us through the purple grass strands, I leaped, heading off track and through a short-cut deemed otherwise dangerous for humans. I growled deeply in the back of my throat, tail akin to a streamer. I let one arm fall from Laura, reaching out for a stray vine. I hope she wasn’t too bothered, as I spotted the stray vine in front of me, I leaped forward, however to stop Laura from launching from my arms, I tucked my head against the small of her back. Faux, she was so small. The muscles in my lower end rippled like a snapping cord as I flew through the air, my outstretched hand catching on the vine as I pulled myself up into the trees. This was safer than running on the ground- or walking. I leaped effortlessly through the branches, constantly switching trees. As we gold closer to her camp, the rancid smell got worse. Clogging my senses like goo. I growled, my chest rumbling. This wasn’t good. What was it? I stopped suddenly. I had full view of the camp now- from the tree we reside in. The sullen camp with painted by a orange glare. The suffocating cloud rising from the orange flames. However, that wasn’t what concerned me. It was the screams. The horrible sounds that seared themselves into my memory, I failed them. It was my job to make sure they made it peacefully. I placed a heavy hand on Laura’s back, preventing her from twisting and seeing the horror before me. The death- the pain.

Laura let out a startled yelp that broke off into a choked wheeze as he picked her up like she was nothing, though to him she was probably not much larger than a child. She didn't try to fight him, though; she had a pretty good idea of where he was headed, and although not the most dignified, being carried like this was definitely quicker. There was no way she could keep up with him, especially in the trees. It was, admittedly, rather nerve-wracking, but what choice did she have? Her heart caught in her throat when he stopped, screams echoing and distorting through the forest. She tapped Kyron and said, "Down." She didn't want to see... but she had to. Had to know exactly what happened. (So sorry its short, I gotta go >.<)
