Adele smiled and watched him leave, then sighed and forced herself to go to Alban's room to check on him. The prince wasn't there, so she assumed he had gone to get lunch. She found him in the parlor, one of the maids reading one of his favorite books to him. Adele smiled and quietly sat next to them, loving how care-free Alban looked.

(Sorry it took me so long, I could not decide how to reply) . Adele was glad to see Alban not moping around. It was good to distract yourself from painful things sometimes, and she did not like seeing him sad. After the maid finished the book. Alban hugged Adele and she hugged him back. Then they went to the kitchen to get a snack, before Adele had to leave to go into the city and sort out the aftermath of the battle. It was not a fun day. After hours of working in the city, she came back to her room and collapsed on her bed, suddenly craving lemonade and baked goods from the night kingdom. But she knew she couldn't go there. Not now. There was too much at stake, too much to do. Instead, she went down to the great hall to eat dinner. But she quickly realized that she was lonely eating dinner by herself in such a huge room. So Adele grabbed a plate of food and went out into the garden, glad that the night kingdom army hadn't destroyed too much of it. She sat next to her favorite fountain, eating and thinking about Alban and Caelan and her parents.

Adele heard of Caelan's sickess but wasn't sure if she should rush over to the night kingdom to help him or trust that their doctors could take care of it, and stay to run the kingdom that was soon to become hers. Eventually she decided to send some day kingdom doctors over to help and stay with Alban and her people.

Without caelan even being aware, the day kingdom doctors were sent away by 'order of the king' even though he had no clue they were there. He fell more and more into sickness until he could hardly keep food down

When the doctors returned only hours later and informed that the king had ordered them to leave, but had heard that he was getting worse and worse, Adele made up her mind. She said goodbye to Alban, saddled up Calvin, and hurried to the night kingdom. She made it to the castle and immediately asked the nearest guard where Caelan was. She didn't know if her powers could heal sickness, but she had to try.

The guard shook his head, not even speaking with caelan about her, saying he ordered her to go away. "The king is gravely ill. He needs no visitors like you." He said, rolling his eyes. One of the maids saw what was happening and walked over to Adele. "Y-your majesty? The king is this way" she said, leading Adele to the sleeping caelan in his room. He was pale and had lost most of his muscle due to the sickness.

Adele was fuming. Fine. If the guard wouldn't let her in, she would go in anyway. She was looking around for a window to climb through when a shy maid spoke to her. Adele thanked her profusely and followed her to Caelan's room. When she saw his shrunken body shivering on the bed, she dropped to the ground next to him and grasped his hand, trying not to cry.

The maid hesitated before leaving the couple. Caelan felt Adele's hand and his eyes fluttered open. "Hey, beautiful" he rasped. "Why are you here? Did something happen?" He asked, coughing
