No. Nalo is in a 20 gallon long, which is about 12" tall.

My 20 gallon is an Aqueon, my 40 is a Marineland (I think). I love them both. And if you buy them new, stores will have a return policy on them in case a seam leaks or theres a crack you can't see.

The only time I recommend buying second-hand is if you're purchasing a large tank and are willing to learn how to reseal it. Otherwise, it's cheaper (and safer) to buy from a store!

Oh also, I heard betta fish like shallow water so does that mean something as tall as 12" is too tall for them?

Do you guys have any tank brand recommendations? I definitely need one with a lid.

They are great for supplies! Our LFS actually partners with them because of how much they recommend them.

I was thinking of ordering supplies from this company. I have heard good things and they have good guides.

Checkout used tanks often people will be nearly giving them away, just make sure to fill it up outside first for a few days to make sure it’s not leaking. Never take a tank with cracks even if they’re small and are current ply holding water

Or, you can typically do it cheaper by piecing it together yourself. Tank, light, cover(optional), heater, filter, air pump, airline hoses, bubble wand, substrate, and then obviously decorations (nothing plastic) and the fish.

I reccomend tetras as well, you want a lot 10-20 as theyre schooling fish and they have a high casualty rate especially when you first get them

You can get a 20 gallon tall kit at most pet stores for about $200 that will include just about everything except substrate, plants, and fish.

Bird, I loved my tetras, I believe I had the 2 for 4/5 years? But do be weary when you get them, I originally had 4 but unfortunately we lost 2 very shortly after due to the 'professionals' we talked with I'll informing us on the best amount for our tank!

@charm, I was hoping to keep it less than $500

Like with anything it takes a lot of research (and it's a bit of an investment) to do things right.

Bettas are definitely able to get away with a 10. I just wouldn't go lower, they explore and swim around way more than people realize

Bird, Unfortunately I never got to try a planted tank, but I've heard amazing things! I do really wish I'd had time to lol

For preferably a smaller tank. Less than 20 gallons.

Aww I'm so sorry Ally! I had a cat named Chloe that passed a way a few years back that was my sweet childhood cat. We had to put her down because of medical issues. My family made a shadow box with her collar, tag and some pictures of her and hung it up in our living room. it just kind of help me say goodbye without having to forget her.

I had my precious baby cremated. And then, if you're willing to spend a little, there are places you can send some of the ashes to be turned into gems for a necklace or bracelet. It helped me immensely.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Ally!
When my childhood cat passed from kidney disease, I planted a little memorial garden. I found that tending to flowers helped me honor his life, as well as seeing beauty grow from my grief.

When my beloved cat, Riptide, unexpectedly passed away I learned a lot about grieving. I created a scrapbook of all the photos I had of him and I cried, A LOT! Unfortunately, the best healer is time. The best thing you can do is let yourself grieve. After losing someone you loved so dearly let yourself cry. You will know when it is time to move forward.

I'm so sorry, Ally. Sending lots of hugs and love your way :(
Everybody has a different grieving process. Some of us need time and space, some of us need to surround ourselves with the people and animals that we love. Find what helps you the most, and it might be different from day to day or hour to hour. Give yourself grace while you're adjusting to this loss.
That heartache never really goes away. We just get used to it, learn to live with it, and it'll surprise you at the most random times. But as devastating as it is, it means that we loved something SO much. To me, that's a huge comfort.
There's a lot of good suggestions here about memorials and ways to honor Sophia. I'd also like to add one my friends and I did a while ago to memorialize another friend's lost cat- putting together a donation to the shelter in that cat's name. It might help you, knowing that another animal's life was benefitted because your pet existed and was loved. It might not- that's okay too. But it's just a suggestion.
I'm so sorry for your loss </3
