On clicker training
I've found the
Equine Clicker 101 podcast with Shawna Karrasch
to be amazing. She talks about what the session is about, what to look for in behavior, how to set it up - then she gives time to try it, and gives follow up advice for the majority of scenarios that could've happened during your session and how to fix it and try again.
Unfortunately there's no new episodes as it's a finished series but so much to work on like target training.

On long lining
I've had a lot of people swear by the Monty Robert Dually Halter. It has a movable noseband with rings on both sides.

And I've got some pony sized reflective leg wraps on their way for him too- I was hoping he'd get away with wearing Minnie's but he ended up wearing them as anklets xD

Is there a easy way to see where your fed horses are ranking at the moment?

Haha that's alright! I do have a cavesson that fits him actually so could give it a go. My poor mother will be getting her steps in to help me get him going haha

Oh that's another one actually- do any of you long-rein without a bit in, and if so what tack do you put on? Ted's got a year without a bit as I'll not know if his wolf teeth have fallen out until his next dentist check (and then he'll have them removed if they haven't) but I'd like to get him longreining before then to help his confidence

It ultimately is luck but using maps and capturing on capture day helps a lot. I am kind of a capture addict lol if you just keep going you will lose a lot of money but eventually you might get something good lol

My horse (16.1 hh warmblood) has been tearing his boots off in turnout. He has figured out that he can lift his leg and then bite the boot to tear it off, so if anyone has recommendations for sturdy turnout boots that'd be much appreciated!

Do you mean bellboots? The best are just rubber pull-ons. They're a bitch to get on and off but harder for the horses to mess with.

I would make the same recommendation. Make sure to have back pairs handy! Your horse may also do better by wearing 2 sets of bell boots, one on top of the other, so that when one is ripped off another is still there.

Have you tried just taping over the straps?

If your horse is taking splint boots off, wrap some duct tape around those bad boys to cover the straps in a layer. It's simple to snip or peel of the tape when you need to take them off. It's also impossible for the horse to get a grip on the tape. My horses pasture all the time and only wear the boots when riding, so I've never had an issue with them taking them off, but I have a couple that rub their faces on their front legs if they want to scratch itches, and they occasionally see the boots as something that's annoying them.

Why do you need the boots?

This was going to be my question as well. Unless there is a really pressing need for some reason (and IMO using the boots as a pseudo bubble wrap for the "what ifs" doesn't count), I'd just turn out without boots. I don't mean that to be harsh but the boots clearly annoy your horse in turnout to the point he's figured out how to remove them...I see turnout as their "me" time and unless he truly needs them for some reason, I'd just turnout without.
