Are Sootys random, like brindles, or are they genetic? I have a stallion that had 2 sooty colts, born one right after another, and I was wondering if this was pure luck, or if it is genetics.

That would be pure luck ;) Sooty is random, but unlike brindle you can reroll them on/off.
