You can get a 20 gallon tall kit at most pet stores for about $200 that will include just about everything except substrate, plants, and fish.

Bird, I loved my tetras, I believe I had the 2 for 4/5 years? But do be weary when you get them, I originally had 4 but unfortunately we lost 2 very shortly after due to the 'professionals' we talked with I'll informing us on the best amount for our tank!
Hummingbird Meadows
10:15:34 Bird
@charm, I was hoping to keep it less than $500
Versailles

Should always try our best with animals. Research is worth it
Backwood Barns
10:14:43 Charm's Wubs
Like with anything it takes a lot of research (and it's a bit of an investment) to do things right.

Bettas are definitely able to get away with a 10. I just wouldn't go lower, they explore and swim around way more than people realize
Wings Of Glory
10:14:08 O Great Potato Wing
After 3 months of work and almost 20k down the drain my truck will finally be repaired and drivable tomorrow >_< proud of myself for not giving up

Bird, Unfortunately I never got to try a planted tank, but I've heard amazing things! I do really wish I'd had time to lol
Hummingbird Meadows
10:13:39 Bird
For preferably a smaller tank. Less than 20 gallons.
Hummingbird Meadows
10:13:23 Bird
Other than betta fish, what are some good beginner fish?
Dash and Duchess
10:12:09 DD | ~Squizard~
Exactly what charm said! It really makes things easier, and the fish love it too!
Hummingbird Meadows
10:11:48 Bird
@DD, so you have had good luck with plants?
Backwood Barns
10:10:56 Charm's Wubs
I will always recommend planted. It will also help keep your tank clean and water quality higher because plants remove nitrates/nitrites from the fish waste.
Dash and Duchess
10:10:54 DD | ~Squizard~
Versa & Bird, gotta love plants and fishies!
-
Bird, you should! I made the mistake of not doing one with my tetras and I honestly regret it a bit xD
Backwood Barns
10:08:59 Charm's Wubs
Um, I guess? They're alive, but they're not growing for him. They're only as big as they are because they thrived in my tank. So I guess my advice is to get an established piece?
Hummingbird Meadows
10:08:17 Bird
@DD, yes. I kind of want a betta fish. Trying to decide if I should do a planted tank.
Versailles
10:07:56 Versa
Yes indeed, DD
Backwood Barns
10:07:43 Charm's Wubs
Ironically, he can grow 10-feet long Jungle Val, and as soon as I take a few pieces of it, it dies in my tanks. So it's all about finding the plants that you can maintain and thrive in your tanks!
Hummingbird Meadows
10:07:40 Bird
@Charm, pointless as in easy?

So here is an interesting colored mustang that is going through the BLM

https://www.blm.gov/adoptahorse/horse.php?horse_id=10194&mygalleryview=

Video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWizbksIYMQ&feature=youtu.be&t=1m52s

Is it roan, extreme lacing, or appaloosa? What is interesting is the frosting goes into the mane and the top of the tail, then the tail goes to black

They have another one from the same facility that looks more like the typical lacing with the same mane frosting and tail
https://www.blm.gov/adoptahorse/horse.php?horse_id=10193&mygalleryview=

Then there is this beautiful example of a silver bay

I've actually been looking at those exact three mares for almost two weeks :D That silver bay is stunning! I think that first mare is appaloosa. That would be my guess anyway.

They're calling her strawberry roan but she makes me think appaloosa over roan, especially the photos of her left side.

Of course I had to check them all out and I just love this mare:

https://www.blm.gov/adoptahorse/horse.php?horse_id=10209&mygalleryview=

She just looks like with some time she'd be so pleasant and sweet, she seems to want to visit with the camera person vs. run away from them.

I would absolutely believe the first mare is just a blanket appy except for the fact that I can see none of the appy characteristics, like white sclera or mottled skin. The hooves might be striped but can't tell. I am sold on the blanket but even on the close up of the face I could see zero skin mottling or any sign of white sclera. So I'm going with an awkwardly expressed roan.
The second one actually looks more like lace than roan because of the reverse dappling shape it seems to take on, but there's no way to tell for sure.

The Burns herd is the one closest to me so I do enjoy stalking that herd lol :) I also noted this gorgeous liver chestnut: https://www.blm.gov/adoptahorse/horse.php?horse_id=10198&mygalleryview=
and this horse with a very interesting butt-only roan (not in the right spot for rabicano either): https://www.blm.gov/adoptahorse/horse.php?horse_id=10199&mygalleryview=
It's interesting that all the mysterious roanish horses have been captured in the same place. I wonder if they're related.

I agree with you on the 2nd mare...whoops I didn't realize there were two "strawberry roans," my opinion was on the first.
