ghost looked at cali "your really your mother in your fathers coat" he said with a chuckle "have you ever met your father he or your mother on this note their fine " he shook out his mane again "lets just hope you mother didnt pick up any thing from me" he joked before he heard sol call out and troted over he stoped about 7 feet away from sol before speaking " i sware if this is you asking if any of the patrol horses seing any signs of your parents i will knock some sense into you myself" he picked his head back up and watched as the herd started to wander over

Nevada | Mare | Wilderness | Mentions: West & Mystery

Though it was still fairly early in the morning, the sun was already out in full force, radiating its perpetual heat down onto the poor souls who inhabited this shallow valley. A dark mare laid underneath the shade of a juniper tree. She was already drenched in sweat, even while avoiding a direct hit of rays. Her light orbs swept lazily over the brush as she snorted miserably. It was still early summer, and if this was any indication of the rest of the season to come, the mare would need to find a cooler place to spend her days.

After finally having enough of sitting in her own pool of sweat, the mare reluctantly pulled her large frame up onto her feet and gave herself a shake before receding into the cover of the forest. This area had been quiet for some weeks with the exception of a small pack of wolves she heard a night ago not too far from where she was now. Food was becoming hard to come by in this area so predators were trending to be more bold in their desperate attempts not to starve. With this in mind, the colored mare was diligent in her efforts to leave as little traces of her existence as possible as she traveled. She found the canines’ tracks relatively quickly, but there was something different, something else … someone else! The scent was faint- nearly non-existent, but still there, able to tell the young mare there had indeed been another equine in the area.

This sparked a sense of hope for Nevada, as she had been on her own for quite some time now, and her natural social nature had been neglected for so long. She would still approach this cautiously, however. Her experiences over the last few years had taught her very well that you cannot always trust everyone you meet. With cautious and quiet steps, she followed the trail for quite some time.

Eventually, Nevada found herself heading towards a field that was completely surrounded by the forest. Little grass grew here because it was so far from the river and it hadn’t rained in ages. By the strength of the scent, she could only assume the mystery horse (pun intended) was somewhere in the field, but now her scent was entangled with another … a stallion. This discovery made Nevada extremely wary about continuing this mission further, but as she peered through the shrubbery and visually located the pair, she could immediately tell they were not in the greatest conditions. The stallion seemed to have the worst physical wounds but the lethargic behavior of the mare led Nevada to believe she too was not in the greatest shape. For a split second, the mare thought about turning around and pretending she never saw them, but even just the thought gave her a guilty sting to the gut. With an inaudible sigh, she slowly crept from the place she had been hiding.

She watched the mare slowly rise and wander off from the stallion, still sleeping. If she was to introduce herself, interacting with the mare by herself first was probably her best shot. The appy followed the mare quietly until she had stopped, seemingly in thought. Her frustrated features led Nevada to believe whatever she was stressing about, wasn’t good. “Well, don’t you two look like you’ve been through it.” Nevada teased in a light hearted tone as an attempt to come off as non-hostile. She had to hold back a hiss as she stepped from the shade of the trees and into the direct line of the sun, still beating down as hard as it did earlier in the morning. “Are you lost, dear?” She asked, tilting her head.

Sol saw his small herd gather for his announcment. "Friends" Sol said, "I have come to a decision. Tomorrow we will begin a search for my and Cali's parents. I believe they are out there, and that if we work together we can find them again."

With his accountment done Sol trotted off to the stream to gather his thoughts.

California grew estatic as Sol said what he did, almost disappointed by the fact she hadn't thought of that first, but so happy "That's a great idea, Sol! Usually we take turns in small groups trying to find mum and dad... But ALL of us leaving to search together? Amazing! I'll make sure no one leaves the herd tonight so that when tomorrow comes, we can leave straight away... And hopefully return with them!" Cali said enthusiastically as Sol left for the river, she trotted down to Ghost "Okay Ghosty, we have to make sure everyone stays together. No one is going out for a walk ok?" She nodded happily before grazing

Mystery jolted around to see Nevada "Oh umm... Yeah, we have been through a bit.. And we have gotten separated from our herd and foals" Mystery said shyly lowering her head

Sol called Cali over to help him with his own and the herd's preperation for the search.

The grey stallion let his soft, dark brown gaze land on Mystery, sighing slightly at her tired, defeated look. It would be hard to keep shouldering on, but they had to. Every day without his foals was another day in a nightmare of torture. The mere fact he was with Mystery was the only thing keeping him going. His ears swiveled slightly as he heard a shift in the leaves on the bushes, which brought his now alert attention around. Since Mystery was laying down, West was even more protective than he usually was, yet that still didn't mean aggressive in any way. Anyone who knew him would probably say he lacked the brain cells to be aggressive, jokingly. His brown gaze quickly caught a moving shadow, which turned into a horse, a mare, as it stepped into the sunlight and started walking towards them. Hope sparked in his eyes for a split second, but he quickly knew this mare wasn't one he knew. If they got lucky, maybe it was a friend of Cali's or Sol's? But that would mean... REALLY lucky, and their luck had been terrible for the past however many years had passed. As of this, and his decreased state of well being, he hesitated, cautious, but didn't move, watching the mare. He flinched forward slightly as this strange mare followed Mystery, as West knew full well he probably couldn't defeat a fly in this state, but thankfully, the mare seemed to not have bad intent, and the wind carried her words. They didn't seem TOO threatening. West stayed slightly tense, only taking a step forward to watch, but not moving after that. If this mare really was nice, maybe it would cheer Mystery up to talk to someone that wasn't... him? He sighed heavily again and anxiously flicked his ears, shifting his weight.

ghost nodded at sol words with a snort at cali as she spoke jokingly "if i find your parent ill do my best not to scare west out of his skin " he snorted to cali before troting off to graze a bt with the herd his somehow pure white coat shining the only thing not pure white on it were the burns from the fire striking down his neck and chest they still burnt like hell if he was in to hot of a place but other then that he was fine with them along with his blind eye they were just a part of him

Toby had been hanging around the herd for a while now, but he hadn't made any firm connections yet. He heard the announcement about going to find West and Mystery, which brought a small smile to his usually sad and lonely face. He wanted, badly, for things to just be normal, and for horses to be happy. He also wanted to meet the wonderful Wild West and the kindest mare ever, Mystery, as he had heard in many a story. It was funny how horses so real were reduced to legends.
