"Uh huh," She grumbled, absentmindedly wandering around the room in shuffle steps. "And it's just you who works here? Seems like a lot." The girls wandering brought her back to the sink, where she washed out the glass, dried and put it back where she picked it up. She looked him up and down when he mentioned that the tavern owner was just about keeping him alive, raising a brow slightly. "Oh yeah? Sure looks like it." She derided, finally bringing her wandering to a halt as she flopped back into a chair.

(Sorry, this is very rushed again, my brain is a little blocked lol)

He shook his head head. "There's a few other workers but they only work for a few hours in the afternoon." He raised an eyebrow at her reaction and then looked at the clock again and groaned slightly. He pulled himself to his feet, pressing a hand against the wall as the world swirled around him and then grabbed a stack of menus and began to put them on the tables. His legs felt like limp noodles and he was a bit shaky but he could breathe almost normally after sitting for a bit. Maybe he could manage today. He glanced over at the girl and worked up the courage to ask her a question. "It's not really my place to ask this, so if you don't want to answer it's fine but...why are you here? You obviously have a pretty decent life and status. So why are you in this hellhole of a town?"

She eyed the boy, groaning quietly. "You're quite right, it's not your place at all," Anya noted shortly, glancing out the window. It was getting even brighter and her nerves started rising. The clock stated early morning and the girl knew perfectly well that the inhabitants of the castle would soon start to awaken. Still, she found herself holding off from going back. "But I suppose if you must know, I'm simply exploring my k-" She paused, rolling her eyes at her very near slip-up, "Just adventuring around town. It gets pretty boring living a 'pretty decent life,' you know." She scoffed sarcastically. It was true. She lived not far from town and one of the reasons she'd leave was to quench her boredom and exploring did just that.

Sage snorted, slightly irritated that she had to bring up his rank again, and make sure he knew where he stood compared to her. "Well, if you're going to adventure, as you say, there's certain paths that are much safer than others." He shrugged. "It won't be fun if you get kidnapped, ya know. You had only a slight experience of what the streets are like. They don't get much better when people are sober and it's day time." As snarky as she was, he didn't want her getting hurt out there. They were having...not a friendly conversation...but she wasn't necessarily being unfriendly to him.

Anya grumbled and rested her head in her hand, "Yeah, well I actually need to find the safer paths." She huffed, fiddling with her hair as she watched him dump menus off at each of the tables. He was right though, being kidnaped wouldn't be fun for her - or anyone for that matter. And, if the streets got no better than what she had experianced, with how gullible she seemed to be, she wouldn't last awfully long. Still, there would be a time when she'd stop being able to leave all together, so she was trying not to scare herself into hiding away in the castle again, and yet, she couldn't help but quiz him. "I take it the streets haven't been kind to you then? You make it sound as though I've been lucky so far."

He snorted and walked back into the kitchen. He put the extra menus down and slid back into a sitting position. He cocked his head slightly and met her eyes for the first time. "You're still a virgin, no? Then you were lucky." He grunted and stood up and picked up a map that was sitting on a table by the front desk and handed it to the girl after scribbling on it. "That's the village. Stay away from the areas I highlighted and you'll probably be fine." He shrugged. "People know that if they mess with someone of your rank it's either the flogging post, dungeon, or execution for them."

The girl stared at him with furrowed brows for a moment before blinking once or twice as looked down at the map. "...right." She huffed, chewing on the inside of her lip as she scanned over the routes. It seemed as though the whole place was a danger zone. She groaned quietly and planted her head on her forehead, rethinking her 'adventures,' as she would call it. She just went for a stroll, but by the looks of it, there weren't all too many places that were safe enough even to do that. She glanced up at the boy for a few moments, thinking back a little. He seemed to bring up ranks in the social systems a lot. Not his in particular, but instead the whole lower class. She couldn't help but be a little put off by the topic. "Hey, your breathing sounds better. I noticed it was off earlier," She noted, cocking her head slightly in an attempt to fill a short silence.

He glanced over at her, the surprise evident on his face. He stared at her for a moment before shrugging. "It was kinda hard to miss," he muttered, dropping his gaze again. "I'm surprised you even thought twice about it though, usually people don't care." He nodded at the map again, sensing she didn't like the silence. "You should find a guide. If you pay them they won't double cross you. If you really want to 'adventure' as you said it, that way you have the extra security and you won't get lost again." He smile tugged at the corner of his mouth, something which surprised him. "People care about money. If you have money, you'll be able to get pretty much anyone to help you out."

The girl nodded softly, looking down as she pondered on the idea. It wasn't a bad one persay. First, she would need to actually find someone to help her out. That wouldn't be the hard bit though. The hard bit would be trying to do one of a few things; Hide the fact she was royalty, leave during the day, or potentially get spotted by one of the castle workers. The last one was a biggie. If she was caught with one of the towns folk, it would automatically be assumed as kidnapping. The next time she saw her said 'guide', it would most likely be with a noose around their neck. She figured she would be fine if she kept up with leaving at night. As long as she was back by morning, there shouldn't be an issue. "Are you by any chance free for tonight?" She asked with a sigh as she started to stand up, looking as though she were getting ready to leave. "I tend to come out most nights, so I don't meet too many people. If you wanted to accompany me on my strolls every few nights and make some extra money that'd be great. I'd much rather give my money to the likes of you than some junkie."

He raised his eyebrows in surprise. "You want me," he repeated dumbly. He bit his bottom lip, thinking. He wouldn't mind accompanying her, but he didn't know when he was working. But she would pay more than the tavern owner would to work at night. If he told the tavern owner he wouldn't work all night anymore he would be fine with it since it meant he had to pay Sage less. Finally he groaned. "You're lucky I make impulsive decisions. Fine, I'll walk with you." He met her eyes for the first time, face hard. "But if I tell you to do something, you had better do it because I don't make a habit of bossing people higher than me around. So if I tell you to do something it's because your life might be at risk. Am I perfectly clear?" He desperately hoped she would agree to that. If this 'job' worked out, he could sleep at least every other night, which was a blessing in itself, but she was also paying him and he could get away from the tavern.
