I feel like breeding horses within your stable(unless you have a ton) tends to lead to all your horses having the same weaknesses which makes your stock weaker and weaker with each generation
I know Grammarly because they have so many ads, but they don't let you do hardly anything without a subscription. I honestly feel like they were considered the 'best' because they just flooded the market with ads
This is just my personal opinion and I'm not telling anyone else how to play - I plan one, sometimes two, "big" breedings per month, per account. Those are the ones I match carefully and save up money for, and I like to use studs in the top five of their breed's LB rankings.
