I love the connecting braids!! It adds a sweet little extra element. The not being able to redo one without redoing the entire mane is annoying, but worth it
Most eventer tails (traditional sorts) are pulled at the top these days, not french braided - so tails we mostly left natural if a breed shown with long mane/tail
Buckeye, I have started doing scallop braids as my boy has just started :) It has been really fun to see how they look as he's never been braided up like that
Being a person who has shown *non-traditional* breeds in eventing, I have certainly taken long manes into competition. We french braid the long manes, or do the continental braid
I do not do eventing irl. My barn does not offer it. No facilities to practice higher jumps and XC. We do Saddleseat, Equitation, Hunters, and I am planning on doing dressage with my trainer.

Your horse may show 3 times per week. Shows run daily. Your horse and rider will gain valuable experience from showing. Select a discipline to show in, or scratch from tonight's show.
