The point isn't whether there are alternate ways to get rid of them, it's that the dying script might be bugged (maybe from the new calculations added for the senior feed).
I've got a handful of 23 year olds and a 24 year old that I'm surprised hasn't popped off yet, I guess I'll see how long they hang on for. But I have seen a lot of old horses on other accounts too
If you have Dapple Blend Grain, you can feed it to your horse and their coat will dapple.
The effect will wear off after a few days. One pound of grain will be fed at a time.
If you feed Senior Blend to your senior horse they will have a 10% decreased chance in dying
when the weekly script runs on Monday morning. The effect lasts for one weekly cycle.

Edit your horse's remarks. Keep all content PG-13.
Choose a Background for your horse.
Withdraw your horse from it's team. You will lose all team points for this horse. Please discuss this action with the team manager first.
Your horse may show 3 times per week. Shows run daily. Your horse and rider will gain valuable experience from showing. Select a discipline to show in, or scratch from tonight's show.
