I was 7 months pregnant. Ruger(childhood dog) was struggling to eat and be comfortable, plaque (common in his breed) was an issue. Together as a family we decided it was our due diligence to lay him to rest. Despite his lack of quality of life, he always found energy to be spunky, joyful, and excited. He was awesome that way. We were in the room, saying our last good byes. I held him in my arms, and in a spurt of grace, he kinda leaped down from my arms. He did not land gracefully though. He was okay, but did let out a little whimper when he hit the ground. Everything was fine but the look my dad gave me, full of disdain, anger, even hatred it seemed. I didn't mean for him to fall. It destroyed me mentally. At first I really blamed myself, but now I'm just angry that we couldn't even have that day without such anger and negativity. Nothing can dim the light every memory with Ruger brings me though, forever in my heart. His kindness and love has sent a ripple through my life.
Used my Mum's mare as a reference and I took the background image myself too! Though some of the coat details seem to be lost since having to downsize the image lol.
Old pups are the sweetest. They always pull my heartstrings. My childhood dog lived to be 14. He got to be with me during my pregnancy. I guarantee he appreciates everything about you trigger
@Trigger, well I took my dog out at 5:00 and there was a loud noise from the construction site nearby and my dog freaked out and ran to the car and didn't want to stay at the park. =/
