I'm debating on if I should keep my line private or start auctioning off some of my foals.. to empty space.. |

You’re all good! Pearl is a little confusing because it works opposite to the other genes. Instead of it being homo dominant to be an apricot (PrlPrl) it actually needs to be homo recessive to be an apricot (prlprl) |

So for the filly you linked she has a high chance of making an apricot if put to an apricot stud, but not a guarantee, since she’s Ee there’s a slim chance you may get an Ee prlprl foal which is just bay hiding pearl |

So would it be low odds of getting an apricot foal if it was PrlPrl? Sorry I'm still learning genetics also ;-; |
Epsilon Acres |
They can, yes. Apricot they need to have chestnut base (so ee) and then double recessive pearl (prlprl) |
Idle Lane Farms |
prlprl means homozygous pearl, so all of her foals with be at least Prlprl. To produce apricot you need ee for the extension gene and no creme gene I believe |

Okay I am dumb when it comes to genetics. Does prlprl mean that if put with an apricot stud they will produce apricot? This girl for example -HEE Click- |

Yesss super excited for him. I hope he trains well. Now I’m tempted to try and find a mare for him that could throw an apricot xD |
Epsilon Acres |
