Oh my god I entered all regular shows, am almost capped out on regular shows, and I am capped on special shows too. Holy shit. That took me 4 hours, that's actually an insane amount of time.
sorry i went to get a little snack honestly jumping in general is impressive haha and whatever height youve jumped doesnt dictate your skill as a rider or horse person but if you want to jump higher go for ittt i believe in you!
I think the highest I have ever jumped is a little over 2 ft which is not a lot, but I was proud. Definitely not as scary when you have a taller horse I learned though. XD
yesss just for funsies is the way to go i think! if the whole saddle situation wasnt a whole clusterfuck lol id probably have kept it and occasionally ridden english for fun and thats awesome, its such a great feeling when you can feel yourself actively building confidence and doing hard or scary things and succeeding♥️♥️
If I ever get back into english, I think it will be a small amount of jumping just for funsies. It terrifies me, but I love overcoming that fear each time I go over a jump.
yeah the pressure and focus of showing is unreal i ride a lot of the horses at my barn (hunter jumper primarily) and the sheer amount of issues these horses have and holes in their foundation is unreal oh but they go to shows every weekend!
@Lucky, glad I am not the only one who feels the same way. XD I too have noticed that the focus of english is showing rather than the health or behavior of your horse. English riding taught me a lot about body mechanics, but I am ready to move on and learn more about communicating with my horse.
not to say there arent absolutely lovely people in the english community some of my best friends ride english but ive found in general people have been way more stand offish and rude and toxic
girl i feel you, i know both western and english have their issues but i feel soo screwed over by people in the english world in a way that never happened or that ive ever seen in the western one plus yeah the drama and the toxicity and just the weirdness i know its a generalization too but ive seen WAY more behavioral issues in english horses than western ones as well and ive ridden quite a few horses in a variety of disciplines
