For me showing (aside from futurity) is something I do because I need to rather than because I enjoy it. I'd class myself as an averagely successful player- I'm certainly not making bank but I'm chugging away a small profit every week. The only reason I'm able to do that and enjoy myself actually playing other aspects of the game is because I spend a decent amount of RL money. I'm lucky enough to be happy and able to do that, but I can see why others that aren't in the same position get put off
I dunno. It's just a thought, of course. I think there are pros and cons, just like with every decision. But I also think there's a lot of painful things to people at the moment, and that could be one of the easier changes
The only reason I have been using Sven's recently is for KNN since there are no ABLB KNN and I want to get the #1 x #1 KNN with a Sven in the hopes of a low ABLB mare/stud for KNN. KNN also need help
A Sven isn't necessary to breed WWWs, no. But if people want to even dream of being top of the boards, it's Sven or nothing... Suddenly your 600k match is 1.6mil
I won't call myself "successful" but I do tend to pull decent profit when I have the time to keep my herd in check. But time is harder and harder to come by, it seems
I don't want to start any trouble, but... Could we consider removing the Sven? I think it's the core of what's making breeding so insanely expensive and impossible for people to climb... Maybe that alongside cutting down on the time taken to show could make the economy more comfortable?
I feel like something that would be really interesting to see is what Eve had in mind while coding showing. For example, how did she intend for people to be successful?
If you have Dapple Blend Grain, you can feed it to your horse and their coat will dapple.
The effect will wear off after a few days. One pound of grain will be fed at a time.
If you feed Senior Blend to your senior horse they will have a 10% decreased chance in dying
when the weekly script runs on Monday morning. The effect lasts for one weekly cycle.

Showing in the special weekly shows doesn't count against your horse's weekly regular show count.
