Bullsnakes, or prairie snakes, however people may know them... They're not venomous. They can have an awful bite just because it hurts and bleeds, but usually they're docile. The one I picked up just kind of looked at me like, "I guess this is my life now". Impressed my reptiles professor. He took it to the vet for a checkup and re-released it into the yard.
