My gecko was horrified of dubias. Literally did her tail wave and then RAN. I never tried after that, donated them to the exotics hotel I had worked at.
I want to keep dubias, but they are expensive and my frog won't eat them. My Crestie probably would, but it isn't worth getting them for her to eat like 3 a week lol
Revel, Since she's half blind, she doesn't come out to "greet" me per say. But she does like to be picked up, yes. I'll set my hand next to her and she'll crawl up, all the way to my shoulder
Min, LOL. There are weirder creatures on this earth. I forget the name, but there's some aquatic creature in some cave somewhere that never gets light. Ever. They don't have eyes. They ONLY live in that one specific cave, too.
That was the day I got feeding tongs, even though so many reptile owners frown upon them. I just don't let the gecko put them in her mouth, and we've been golden ever since.
My mother's probably quite pleased there are at least some animals I won't bring home though xD In the last 3 years we've gained a cat, 2 dogs and a pony (soon to be 2) xD
Min Gargoyle and crested geckos don't have to eat live insects lol it is more for a treat/enrichment. They get everything they need from the powdered diet you just mix with water and put in a bowl in the enclosure
Lol. I guess as a zookeeper, I'm kind of used to literally all of them. The only ones that I'm a touch nervous of are the superworms. I've been bit before lol
I feed my adult geckos once a week the babies twice a week but I leave it in there so they have food for 3 days atleast. My snakes get fed once a week, besides my adult BP she is once a month, but she has gone 6+ months without eating before lol
Oh wow, that's mad!! They're interesting creatures. A friend had a leopard gecko when we were teenagers but I noped the fuck out because of the noise the crickets made hitting the walls of the tub she had them in. I helped her give it a shower once though lol
If you have Dapple Blend Grain, you can feed it to your horse and their coat will dapple.
The effect will wear off after a few days. One pound of grain will be fed at a time.
