Savannah I'm trying not to scare you into expensive wet food but every thing is expensive when it comes to feedig pets |

Bird, What in the heck... Food is EXPENSIVE, even when it isn't prescription. That seems like such a dumb decision. Yeah, I dunno... Usually a swap over takes two weeks, though, to be considered proper |

@Dusty, that would be easy! XD For real though I am stressing because he needs to be on this diet, but won't freakin eat it! I tried mixing a churu in it tonight and he just licked the food. =/ |

Honestly I think wet food is a scam from big pet food companies like anyone with a brain can tell a big slice of vanilla cake is WAY better for your cat, it tastes so much better than mushed up mystery meat |
Hummingbird Meadows |
@Versa, I spent a couple days changing it, but my Mom threw away the old food without consulting me so then he was just on the new stuff. The vet thinks it is the new food that made him sick though and that he needs to be on hydrolyzed. It wasn't just throwing up once. It was throwing up over a whole day. |

Wet food IS generally better in terms of nutritional value. However, you've sincerely gotta note that the cat's weight CAN change and drop, from a swap to wet food from kibble. It is very important to keep an eye on it, monitor, and offer more if they need it. |

Bird, Was it a gradual change? If suddenly the food is just different, it can cause stomach upset and vomiting. Gotta mix it together for a while |
Hummingbird Meadows |
@Dusty, a special made food that you have to get a prescription from your vet to buy. |
Hummingbird Meadows |
@Versa, it is actually a hydrolyzed prescription diet. Tried taking him off it and he started throwing up a week later. |
Versailles |
Bird, Unfortunately you may just have to deal with him being a little overweight, then. It's healthier that he's a little overweight, than it is for him to skip meals all the time. As long as he isn't morbidly obese, it won't hurt him |
