Yes, that was my original question Capp. My pastures are both lush currently because I don't put horses in them under the assumption I'd need round bales because a full pasture wouldn't feed all of them for a week

I bought such heavy bulk that I actually can't remember the last time I bought hay.

If you have a pasture and want it to provide for the horses in it, it canÂ’t be full or even really near full.

It says the quality of pasture.

Hmm, interesting. Guess I'm rotating my geldings into pastures after harvest every year now!

I grow my hay bales first day RO. Harvest in 10 days. Grass is Lush. Put horses into pasture until the day before RO. Never need a round bale the grass must be barren at time of feeding to need hay

I'd be rotating my jumping show geldings into the pastures, so every single pasture space filled

Lush pastures you don't need to feed pasture horses hay, anything lower than that you have to feed hay, but not as much(less feedings). Barren pastures you're giving them the same amount of hay you would've if they were in a barn.

Not sure but the game guide says this: High quality pastures provide more feed to horses and so less hay is needed. Lush pastures require zero hay supplementation, while barren pastures require full hay supplementation.

Dark-I keep mine pastured for 2-3 weeks & never need round bales as long as the grass starts Lush

So there's no point in putting horses in my pastures at all then? I only harvest square bales from my pastures so I don't have any round ones. I was thinking saving a week's worth of hay by keeping horses in my pastures for a week (they're both lush)

In order to train horses in pastures you need to feed them roundbales

I have all 6 show barns I wanted, now I need another barn for something else but I'm not sure what to make one for. Any ideas? I do AD AA/TB

It may be worth moving my geldings to my pastures after harvesting then, or will that be counter productive and cost me round bales?

It shouldn't. I've planted on barren pastures and it all starts at quality 10

Would moving horses to my pastures after harvesting hy affect the quality of hay grown next month?

Me too, but more in deep personal debate of contemplative change.
