I've ridden a few very slightly spicy horses and each time my anxiety just made it worse. I have just accepted it and learned I do best with a calm horse that doesn't care.
but i do think children would be better off if they were free to be feral. there's too much bubble wrap these days and i think they're missing out on so many core memories. but also, there's nowhere to ride and be feral anymore
It does depend on the horse. A light weight woman riding a draft type is not going to cause anywhere near the amount of harm as a 200 something man riding a 14 hand horse
i'm not, but if you know what you're doing and you can afford a horse, then why not? you dont HAVE to be at a training barn/in a show program to own a horse.

Withdraw your horse from it's team. You will lose all team points for this horse. Please discuss this action with the team manager first.
Your horse may show 3 times per week. Shows run daily. Your horse and rider will gain valuable experience from showing. Select a discipline to show in, or scratch from tonight's show.
