Every now and then, someone will claim to have seen wolves in the mountains east of my city, but trail cams, footprints, fur samples, scat, etc. only ever show signs of coyotes. I think people around here see a coyote and cry wolf. We have frequent coyote sightings in the city, too. Coyote sighting in the city? Coyote. Coyote sighting in the mountains? "Wolf". XD
But I have read that biologists have confirmed wolves in the UP.
Myth, I can totally relate! I just want hurry up and win the lottery, so I can build a house, and built a twenty foot wall around that house with a solid iron gate, and lasers that shoot down drones, so I can lock the outside world out and live in peace. I will only allow people I like to enter.
My high school was very welcoming to Freshman, as long as we stayed off the Senior Lawn. That part of the school was strictly for seniors only, and was strictly enforced by the seniors. But that was just one grassy area of many. Everywhere else, no one actually cared what grade you were in, as long as you fit in with the social group. That was back in the mid 90s, so things like "Preppy" versus "Rocker" versus "Nerd", etc, were very rigidly defined.
