We will have two next spring, so we shall see lol. But both mares bred, one is a paint, she is being a surrogate for Millie, and she is chunky, and the Shaylee is Friesian x Arab and is more chunky. So we shall see lol
my aravbs always did fine maintaining weight after foaling and nursing babies, but htey were fed high quality hay, now my mins get a lower quality hay and i have to supplement he hell outa them to keep that top line
When Millie had her baby, she had a traumatic birth, lost foal, almost died, and remained round. She is purebred Arab and a sassy lil thing haha. But some mares just look like they did prior too. Each one is different
Some mares drop a lot of weight after birth. If they had a good body score prior to having a baby I would not worry too too much about it. And yeah it depends on the breed. I worked with a lady who bred Arabs and those mares seemed to drop more weight than the drafty type horses do
There are also some mares breeds that are always on the skinny side. especially if it is Tbs and cross Aqh x TBs. But there are supplements that your vet can recommend for her.
I drive by these two horses frequently and evidently they were pregnant as they each have a foal. They had a decent Body condition before, but now I can see their ribs so IÂ’m just a little worried about them.
some mares will put literally everything into their colt so yes, but i would consult your vet if youre inexperienced with foals/nursing mares and youre worried about it
If you have Dapple Blend Grain, you can feed it to your horse and their coat will dapple.
The effect will wear off after a few days. One pound of grain will be fed at a time.
If you feed Senior Blend to your senior horse they will have a 10% decreased chance in dying
when the weekly script runs on Monday morning. The effect lasts for one weekly cycle.

Withdraw your horse from it's team. You will lose all team points for this horse. Please discuss this action with the team manager first.
Your horse may show 3 times per week. Shows run daily. Your horse and rider will gain valuable experience from showing. Select a discipline to show in, or scratch from tonight's show.
