One basically rearranges the sooty gene into vertical stripes, so they'll always be darker than the base and have the same genes, while the other is like a chimmy. The sooty-modifying one CAN be bred for, and there's a TB breeder with a buttload of brindles xD |

| breeding two brindles gives you a 0.50% chance of getting a brindle, while it's normally 0.25% if I recall correctly. Otherwise there's no genes for it. IRL, a chimmy is basically when one embryo swallows the other whole developing, and they sorta merge. Gene testing the hairs from one color area VS the other would give you two different sets of genes, even though it's still one horse. |
