Right! *Three* vets brushed me off. Even after she went off her feed and lost sooo much weight. One of the vets told us it was nothing to worry about but if we absolutely thought necessary she'd take blood. And then never sent us the results. Poor girl had complete kidney failure

It is very frustrating being remote. It annoys me how they make you feel when you say you know something is up... I literally spend every day with these animals...i Know when something is wrong.
Lost one of my pregnant girls (alpaca) early in the year because all the vets wrote me off and overdramatic when I asked them MONTHS ahead of time to check because something was off. We're also remote and with "exotic" animals so the nearest decent vet is 9 hours away
I still have all her broodmare feed here...her friends are standing next to her paddock, waiting for her... I cant even bring her home because of the Autopsy...Which was required because of the stallion she was in foal to.
Sorry Sting. I feel that though. I had a mare survive undetected twins. One twin lived for 3 days and the other died in utero, just for me to lease the mare out the next year as I was just sick and the lessee missed my mare colicing and she died 3 months after delivering the lessee's foals. I'm still sick thinking about it.
Bloody sucks...Started off as suspected colic...was compacted..and then just went in progressive waves...different symptoms, etc. I knew something was very wrong from her behaviour..

Showing in the special weekly shows doesn't count against your horse's weekly regular show count.
