According to my professor, it is airborne. As in, particles can be taken through ventilation, etc.
Outdoor bird feeders that are dishwasher safe can even just be put through the washer. Hot water and wildlife safe soap, yes. Rinse thoroughly, no soap should remain.
Hummer, If you start finding ill birds around your feeder (swelling, gasping/wheezing, nasal and eye discharge, etc.) please consider washing them to keep your healthy flock safe <3
Pines, It's genuinely awful. Before all of the avian flu stuff started, eggs were already decently restricted. Now it's down the drain.
Wolf, We can only farm eggs from free range chickens, so a lot of our chicken facilities are having to redo their chicken enclosures and cannot sell eggs.
That being said... Avian flu has existed since long before our recent Covid troubles, so it's... Actually kind of unlike Covid, other than being a fast-spreading illness. Except this one is airborne too. Birds have very, very sensitive respiratory tracts.
Versa It's because of the Avian flu going around, their calling it the "COVID" of chickens, I believes it's also been impacting the dairy industry. We are lucky our girls are still laying about 6 eggs a day

Showing in the special weekly shows doesn't count against your horse's weekly regular show count.
