I totally get that (I do it myself) - what I was (poorly) trying to say is that its frustrating in the forums if someone is advertising as open and available if they are not - just put closed in the forum title so people aren't wasting their time waiting for a response
If I'm not able to respond to something right away - I put it on Unread so it's an annoying message reminder in my mailbox. Or I keep it open in another tab - and have it constantly reminding me to respond. I currently have a few replies to respond to, and it's been a minute, but I haven't been in the correct headspace to respond. Sometimes it's a hard subject, or it's about having the time or access. And sometimes its the anxiety of responding, being late on getting back to the person, or the context of the message. At least for me.
👋 I'd like to put it out there sometime when I get a PM I'm not in the right headspace to answer for days, life is so busy that I only pop on for the essentials or I open the message, procrastinate on answering and forget about it by accident lol. RL is unpredictable.
