Angels, have you tried short stories? I love my novels but short stories are SO great for just getting going and finishing something and playing with ideas
Oh that's a super fun mix! I'm kinda similar, fantasy and my next WIP is sci-fi, and I'm editing a contemporary western (not dark though) for self-pub. Don't write nonfiction, but kudos to you for that, the research is so fun and rabbit holing is the best
I write fantasy, sci fi, and dark Western. Oddly, I also like to write nonfiction because I love to deep dive into research and share what I find. I haven't completed anything in forever, though.
oh no i'm brutal when giving feedback too 😂 i dont see the point in just complimenting things- if you want to get better you need critique. if you care about the story you'll accept critique. ego only holds the story back
Angel, exactly! And to be fair, I am equally brutal when editing my own writing and like when people point out flaws I couldn't see because I was too close to the project.
Yeah I always feel bad when I have to do peer reviews in classes because I am brutal lol. But its all meant to be helpful suggestions not bashing anyone's work
