For my gallbladder surgery I just remember them giving me Tylenol beforehand for "the pain when you wakeup" and then the surgery was postponed 4 hours so part of me thinks I woke up with no pain killers since the tylenol had worn off.

Only time I have been under anesthesia was for my wisdom teeth and getting my gallbladder removed. Wisdom teeth experience was awesome as I had little to no pain. Woke up crying in pain from my gallbladder.
Hummer, I feel very called out for that comment.. I did the same thing at the starting of dental asst. school. I would try looking for little scrub shops that do a discount for students, healthcare workers, and more. There are places like that, you just have to look around insanely hard!
I was already crying when my consciousness snapped back after anesthesia. It was weird, the back of my brain was questioning the tears but I just kept crying. It's honestly the quietest my brain had ever been while crying. Just lots of blank, emotionless tears
