Angels, same. We had a horse in the stall next to one being treated for ulcers and every day after I gave the one horse the gastrogard, I'd let the second horse suck on the syringe and he was so happy. Absolute weirdo
Syringes of whatever his favourite thing is...Small ones...to get him used to having it..then give medication, and treat syringe after. Make it random etc so he never knows if he is getting the medicine or the treat.
Anyone have any tips on how to get fussy horses to take their meds? Youngster just had a laparoscopy done to remove OCD chips in his stifle and fetlock and needs his antibiotics but won't take it in his feed, I've tried mixing it with apple sauce and giving it to him in a syringe which works but he hates it and I don't want to make him headshy or hesitant to allow his head and mouth to be touched
