All my horses have riders and show for money. I don't have good enough stock yet to breed for sale, so I just breed for show horses and to build up my army. So we have different goals and different ways to appproach the game. It's hard to give advice when you play differently. Neither way is better, it's just different.

If you have Dapple Blend Grain, you can feed it to your horse and their coat will dapple.
The effect will wear off after a few days. One pound of grain will be fed at a time.
If you feed Senior Blend to your senior horse they will have a 10% decreased chance in dying
when the weekly script runs on Monday morning. The effect lasts for one weekly cycle.
