I like using quests like that, I think sometimes people view them as income instead of just a fun side thing and then the payouts seem quite disappointing

The effect will wear off after a few days. One pound of grain will be fed at a time.
If you feed Senior Blend to your senior horse they will have a 10% decreased chance in dying
when the weekly script runs on Monday morning. The effect lasts for one weekly cycle.
