yes you can lol, it is a LEGAL contract, they can sue if the new owner breaks contract, or even if a shelter breaks contract. its as legally binding as any other contract out there.

We have had several either stop taking new clients- or retire here. So there is not very many choices to go to.

I have a no kill shelter in my city and half of the dogs are pure/well bred. Like I saw a Belgian Malinois in there.

Hmmm...
It works in theory but not always in practice.
Can't enforce those contracts in most states/areas.

Big shortage of vets. And quality of vet has to do with it here. I used to go to a cheaper vet but he ended up referring me to these guys. I love them haha. Jupiter gets so excited when he sees the building

Yeah, I won't talk about the whole breeding thing and not spaying/neutering your animals.

I'm a big Supporter of our local TNR cat rescue and fostered and help there when I can. I see the crap they desl with because of people who refuse to spay/neuter their cats and let them roam outside.

Same with dogs so. I personally wont comment on that one.

ethical breeders will make sure their dogs have contracts stating they will NEVER step a paw inside a shelter, they have s&n contracts, return contracts, health testing(OFA and or Pennhip), while byb do none of that.

I think location matters a lot for price. Supply and demand and there's a big shortage of vets right now.

The amount of stray dogs here is ridiculous. It is exactly why I am getting him neutered lol. Also he keeps trying to make babies with my already neutered senior who is over his shit

purebred does NOT = well-bred, most of those dogs were 100% from byb.

With our county shelters absolutely over run with so many animals needing homes, I have a hard time justifying breeding. I understand wanting quality and lineage.
The amount of purebred dogs that came through the shelter doors was unreal.

Celeste I think you're taking what I'm saying personally and it had nothing to do with you. I was just shocked st the amount of money some of these vets are charging people...that literally it

If I did want pups I would get a breed of my dog and breed(I have experience).

I do not do it “Just because I can”
We are not rich- this is a toll on us. But it has to be done, and I do not trust many vets after one absolutely butchered a spay once, loosing me the animal. They were well respected and cheaper than this vet.
I went through so many vets trying to solve Jupiters skin issues. Vet after vet here kept saying the same thing and refusing to test for anything else.
I spent thousands on them.
Guess how much I spent at this vet to find the issue? 400$. They found the issue and helped me out.

In my area the cheaper clinics use just the minimal requirement for safety stuff. IÂ’m not risking my 95lb dog to save some money even when living on a fixed income :/

Yeah I wouldn't let my dog outside unsupervised unless in our fenced in backyard. I wouldn't even let my dog unsupervised in the front because other dogs can see em.

the low cost places here are good but the waitlists are SO long, over 6 months

it is shocking, my dogs emergency x-ray wasn't even that much... and it was done by a top vet in our area.

There's a veterinarian shortage; not everyone has easy access to all the options. Trusted vets are hard to find. Supporting them will open more avenues should emergencies arise.
Especially in the horse world.

I'll shut up now. Sorry for saying anything, it's just shocking to me that they charge so much like that
