I'm "blue collar". And honestly I only do it because I hate office work. I however do not enjoy working in extreme temps and I envy people who do get to do the "9-5". But I know it can't be me, so instead I get mad at cows in -40
Gem, The key to woodworking - quality and marketing. The amish who make furniture in our area are raking in the dough. Super nice pieces they sell, for good money. And have their stores on main roads and lots of billboards 😉
As I said, takes all sorts to make the world go round. But, blue collar does not equal broken down bodies all the time either. Just putting out the other side of seeing things
Thanks. :D And yes, trades are needed to make the world go around. I've thought of getting into one, but I dunno what. I like the idea of woodworking, but that's kinda fallen out of favor.
My step son is a diesel mechanic. Not much cost to his education, worked in field only about 5 yrs, became field manager, no more hard work on his body, current salary is 250k per year. Pretty good for a blue collar tradesman, no?
Need more folks out there doing trades. The good news is, good pay and not so much student debt going into life on their own. It takes all kinds to make the world go round.
Lots of non college folks are doing very well, and are well educated despite the choice to not go to college.
