rent around here is averaging 2k for a one bed one bath its insane the place where im at now has some issues but my landlady is super sweet and has only raised the rent once. its 1.2k right now
I've known people whose rent has doubled or even tripled just cause of the Cost of Living crisis, not to mention their bills. And then wages haven't went up much more than like 5% or something in comparison.
I'm honestly not sure where we'd be at if it wasn't for the house. Our rent was 1400 a month with no utilities included. On top of only 1 income into the household...things were strained and stressful.
