My dream from age 5 onward was to be an equine vet, and my family has connections in the TB industry and Cornell Uni. I was dead set on it. Had to kill the dream because my parents didn't want to pay for that much school. Youngest brother went on to become a pharmacist on my family's dime. I put myself through school in the end anyway.
Oh sh*t! That's terrible. So glad we have come farther then that. Even in the late 80s into the 90s my mom got pushback like that about things like playing the drums and certain subject/majors in college...
Women have come a long way since I was turned down to major in computer science because "girls are a distraction for the boys in the classes". It was legal then, which it's not now. It was even legal for profs to call you "little girls" and discriminate against you by grading you C- or below just because they didn't want females majoring in biochemistry.
It's an unarmed position and some of the dudes are like 800 years old and 400lb. So I don't think me being 5'7 150 would be an issue. Probably wouldn't be doing any takedowns.

I remember a few months ago, this old man went missing. I live in front of a lake, so I saw the wife of the man talking with the firefighters, apparently they found his boat on the other side of the lake. So they went searching for him for days, but nope nothing to do.
Last week we drove by a group jogging for a police cause, like ones injured and lost. I've never seen that many police motorcycles in one place! Like at least 6, and the first one was parked on the side of the road, it was a LADY. XD Also like 4 cars and two ambluances with the joggers.

Showing in the special weekly shows doesn't count against your horse's weekly regular show count.
