Now I work a couple hours but it's all my way. I run the barn and pretty much tell the owner what needs to be done (usually after I've done it). I also have a decent pet sitting gig - where I get to hang out with a bunch of different animals, and even do training services.
I'm a show groom for one nice lady and that's a fun job. I'm her Show Mom - but she's 40 years my senior
I wish I could work with animals full time. But vet med is NOT for me. And the barn could offer me more hours, but not enough to justify driving 40 minutes one way to get there.
The animals in my care all know what manners are and what's expected of them. The cat and I are sitting on the front porch, and he knows he's not allowed off or he will be sent inside.
I find socializing and with animals easier - they say what they mean. And get over it. For the most part.
There was a whole uproar on social media because of trail riders leaving horse manure on the road. And how if dog people can't do it why can horse people. Umm because hay and grass are so much less gross than dog and cat 💩
I also am a stable hand- but is very very part time right now. But that will never be my main job, not much stability there and the money made is poor.

I like my job. I have worked in childcare for 6 years now. Different centers, but the one I am at now is the best. I worked at an animal shelter for a couple months between my first and second centers. That was a nightmare
@Boulder, I wish I could be more like that. Instead I am rather timid and a people pleaser. Part of me thinks that might be because I still live my family who can be rather mean and manipulative.

The effect will wear off after a few days. One pound of grain will be fed at a time.

Your horse may show 3 times per week. Shows run daily. Your horse and rider will gain valuable experience from showing. Select a discipline to show in, or scratch from tonight's show.
