Oh, on a side note I woke up this morning to 10+ messages from a drunk person harassing me about something I am selling online. XD |

Yeah really. Last year I read books and websites for months and the same this year lol. Last year was the Horse History and this year it's Barrel Racing lol. I had like 30 pages or more of notes last year. But this year it's harder cuz there's not much on Barrel Racing's history except it "May" have been from Gymhanka, which was to prepare soldiers and horses for battle(Which they have Gymhanka competitions today lol) so I am still looking |

@Marsh, it is much easier and more fun to research a topic that interests you though. |

That is cool! I love research projects because they make you do a deep dive on a particular subject. |

Oh that's cool. I wrote a paper on the History of Horses and I'm writing one this year on the History Of Barrel Racing |

One of my favorite projects was when I wrote a paper on the history of horse tack |

Juno That is cool It is always more interesting when you results are opposite from your predictions lol |
Starfawn Sporthorses |
Angel I thought that too, but after reading some other papers on equine vision it seems they us their contrast perception to detect predators easier, which could be why they preferred the less obvious fences. |

Juno Wow that is interesting. You would think being able to see the pole best would have the best performance |
Starfawn Sporthorses |
Also geldings performed better than mares, suspect that females ( of multiple species) have better colour perception. I think its been brought i in terms of women seeing better spectrums of colour but i suppose it could apply to multiple species |
Starfawn Sporthorses |
Angel that they perform best over colours with LESS value contrast to the background, which was the opposite of what i expected. We used black poles for a control. Then blue ,green, and red for the actual colours. I wanted to use yellow but the yard didn't have any. Pretty interesting that they didn't like the poles they could see more clearly. It was luminance and value that played the biggest role which i suppose is to be expected as they cant see the full colour spectrum. |

Ven Very true you would think the most "intelligent" species on earth would be less self destructive |
