Once when I was looking for a new lesson place I went to a barn where they put me on a 17.2 gelding, and I realized that I do, indeed, have a limit on how tall of a horse I will ride. It is much under 17.2
(tho he was also kicking at his trainer when we trotted/cantered - while she had him on a lunge line, with me on him. Reader, I did not go back)
Some of the boxes, Like color, I can let slide There is a mare I am head over heels for at the barn that may possibly become for sale. Saddlebred x Arabian. She is big and beautiful mover, Saddleseat bred but does a little of everything here and there And she is big. So, perfect Her cons are- she can be a difficult horse, and she is grey
@Trigger, that's fair. When I was horse shopping I remember how hard it was traveling though since most of the horses I was interested in were out of state. So travel was an additional cost.
We have been to a few horse trials but none have stroked my fancy, they were priced between 5k-10k. I am just being very picky. Once I buy that horse is stuck with me forever, so wanna make sure all the boxes, or at least most of the boxes, are checked
hummer I'd love a Clyde x TB cross, I've seen a few on YT and love em. For now, I'm sticking with my QHs though lol. My stepdad was looking for a horse for my mom since hers died last year, and he found a 6yo 16hh mare, fully trained, for 800$. Said the owner died and the mare was left with a friend, and they just want her to go to a good home. Possible third horse for us? xD
Since I am taller I weigh more. I used to lease a 15h mustang and I always felt kind of bad riding him because I think I was too big for him. I'm not really overweight, but still.
