Eagle, evidently companies can pay to access medical billing information so I can 10+ paper bills a day from various scam "debt collection" companies that are claiming they were hired to collect actual amounts I owe on actual medical bills. Really scary stuff honestly
Revel, I think so, too. I know once one person gets ahold of it, they'll put it in a list and SELL the list of numbers to other scammers and spam people to send their crap out to. My number is basically doomed lol
Has anyone heard about hospital scams?? My friend got a letter from the local hospital saying she owes 440$ but we live in Canada and there is no way she has had to pay for anything. Let alone she hasn't been to the hospital in 4 years.. has anyone heard of this ?
I keep getting random messages asking if I want to go to the beach or go for a hike by strangers. When I tell them they have the wrong number they get super apologetic and thank me and then ask if we can be friends.
I've been highly considering changing my number just simply because I get WAY too many spam calls a day. And scam. Some days it's like five, but I've had 20 in a single day before. Makes me mad. Like if it says "scam risk", just don't let it go through...
I get lots of scam texts that are meant to look like wrong number messages like "Hey [random name]! Can't wait for the cookout tomorrow!" They're realistic enough that when an actual friend of mine got a new phone number and texted me about a potluck, I ignored the message for 3 months till we ran into each other in person lmao
