The thing is that you really should put more emphasis on what breeders are actually doing (genetic testing, not breeding things with bad temperaments/allergies, not breeding for color, not breeding flat faces/other disabilities etc) than papers yes, but most doodle breeders are also not doing that. I have only encountered one that did any of those things.
Hummer, i completely agree. as someone who lives around a lot of Amish and Mennonites, (Ohio/NE Ky area) most have papers, but are in a breeding mill setting. +++ the amount of crossbreeds are crazy with the prices they are asking.
ThatÂ’s the sad part, Hummer. And because they arenÂ’t an actual breed they donÂ’t have papers by most kennels so you canÂ’t guarantee a reputable breeder. I wouldnÂ’t buy a dog that doesnÂ’t have papers just because anyone can breed dogs for profit, but ethical breeders usually care more about the breed standard than the profit
